It's why Melbourne supporters have the reputation as the weakest in AFL. A capacity crowd in a close game at the Dome is just as thrilling as footy at the G'.

I am not a weak Supporter-Just don't like being Ripped off by a soulless bucketload of concrete that is too small to be considered a "Real Ground" I Have to work anyway so i wish all Demon supporters a good night. Yell hard for the Boys. Encourage Jack & Liam.

We just might win (after what Sylvia said this week i expect the team to be switched on)

BBP, is that humour?

A close game in front of a packed house has just as much atmosphere as a normal game at the G. A close game at the G with half the fans has twice the atmosphere.

It's a horrible ground and I wouldn't belittle anyone for not going there.

THIS WHOLE MADNESS IN ONLY ATTENDING THE MCG IS COSTING THE CLUB. Ok I hate Etihead But I still go. What are you trying to prove by not going, It hurts the club, and It`s not as if the AFL are gonna knock down Etihead stadium just because its not as good as the G. I am fair to people who don`t go because they can`t make it but just because its not at the G is a pathetic reason. Someone delete all the posts by people saying I only attend the MCG, because if other clubs supporters read this then it gives us a terrible Image. I`m not having a go at ya but just if you can find in your heart to get there. Well then ............ Get there. Same goes with all Etihead haters. If ya can get there

THEN GET THERE

GO DEES

IMO, you're barely a supporter if you don't actually go along to the games and 'support' the team. It makes sense really. If you live in Melbourne and all that's stopping you from getting to games is grounds ripping you off, then that's the definition of weak. MCG's a rip off too, but I'm sure you make it to those games. Think about the food prices at the G. It's no different really from Docklands.

I'm thinking around 39,000, but I hope in the 40s.

PS. I doubt Jurrah's debut is going to add to the crowd in any significant way. Those who will be most excited that Jurrah is debuting are probably the type of fans that will have been attending the game anyway.

Healthy crowd. It was great to see and hear quite a few Melbourne people there tonight. Still hopeless to get into though. I don't remember it being that bad since the early Colonial Stadium days.

Yeah, prety good crowd.

I actually thought the turnout of Melbourne people seemed pretty poor though, but maybe it was just around me.

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full
