if there is a genuine concern, why not move st kilda versus melbourne from the GC to etihad in round 10? or round 13 north vs bulldogs? or round 13 essendon carlton (both TD tennants) but playing at the g? round 19 essendon v brisbane?

There's no chance Ess v Carlton would be moved, you know that. St Kilda has agreed to play 1 match this year at the Gold Coast, which, along with Carlton's and Richmond's, makes up for North Melbourne reneging on their Gold Coast deal. So that match won't be moved either.

This leaves Ess v Brisbane, which seems a likely candidate to be moved. But that same day, Etihad already has a match scheduled (Western Bulldogs v West Coast). Same problem with North v Bulldogs in round 13 (St Kilda v Richmond is on at Etihad the same day). So neither of those can be moved to Etihad either.

Your point about moving another match between Etihad-tenant clubs instead of us is valid, though.

But that's OK. I have had the same reserved seat for 5 years. It's always there when I get there.

I have been to the Dome once. Too much pain getting there, parking & getting out again.

I just won't go there.

From the club's point of view -

Battle to increase membership only to have home games pulled mid season.

Break the cycle of selling home games to Brisbane for money, then forced to do so to benefit other clubs.

Let the incumbents play there - move Round 15 Hawthorn v North Melbourne from Aurora.

Don't get me wrong, I hate the Dump, but try taking the freeway all the way through the tunnel, getting off at Kingsway, turn right and park at Crown, first entrance. A bit of a walk to the Dump up Spencer Street, but no parking hassles. Crown can never make up their mind what they are charging; anywhere from $2 to $10. When you get back, there is an exit straight out of the carpark onto Kingsway and then straight onto the freeway.

The AFL "need" us to move, if we say no then they can't, make them beg us, take a collingwood stand and tell them to [censored] off unless they over compensate us, not compensate, over compensate.

Actually I Just thought of a better outcome.

Cancel St Kildas home game on the GC against us. Move it back to Dock Land$ stadium and win win for all! They would have to make the call now or early next week at the latest and offer to refund any travel/accomodation etc that is not refundable.

not sure why people with a reserved seat at the G are worried about, every home game we have had at TD I have sat in premium seats on the wing at grnd or 1st level. Im sure this is not an issue, just might mean we have to turn up a little earlier to ensure best seats.

As stated this cannot happen. This is the last year of the North Melbourne 3 games on the coast deal. St Kilda, Carlton and Richmond each take up the slack with one home game. No way on God's green earth will this occur.

We must push back on this and send a message to the AFL that we are not going to continue to be their punching bag. However, if we seriously want the AFL to look to consider other options in situations like this in the future we need to consistently draw good crowds. If we regularly had 25,000 - 30,000 MFC supporters/members turn up to a game against an interstate team then they would focus their attention on the Bulldogs, or North or Richmond.

We are a target due to the lethargy of a large proportion of our supporters and members that don't make the effort to turn up unless we are winning.

I hate the Dome as much as anyone. It is shocking to watch football at, but no more so than watching my club fork out $100K plus to open the MCG when an Interstate team visits.

Would be very different if we were competing for a finals berth, but we aren't...

Compensate the members and premium supporters with decent seating on level 2.

Write out a big check to the MFC for the pain, suffering etc but by season end we will have forgotten all about it.

We can be the good guys. Gives us some bargaining power into the future ( maybe) and puts some money into the club instead of taking it out.

This is ridiculous. 5,000 Melbourne supporters won't turn up if it's at Docklands. That is just my estimate.

You can get Saturday tickets for $3.00 - Must buy 5 trips for $15.00

As a premium member with a reserved seat on L2 at MCG you can lay odds we will only get a "reserved area" on L1 at Docklands and not Premium L2 seats.

If every reserved seat member gets an equivalent reserved seat I don't have a problem but history says it aint gonna happen.
