Rd 2 - Crowd Expectations

Last week, nobody guessed it and every single person over estimated...

My guess is 38,000...

guess away people

Don't really care since it's not our home game! Just hope a decent number of those in red & blue go, especially those who say they can't or won't go Sundays because this is one of only three (yes three) Saturday arvo games in Melbourne.

M2W, i'm deliberately going very low. my theory is, we got 59K I think last year queens bday. Minus at least 10K because it is not QB. Minus a bit more because it is Melbourne and Pies fans wont look at this match as a very exiting one.

Hope it is a lot higher.

Nah, the pies supporters will be out in force cos after falling short last week they'll want to see a big win over what they think is a dud opponent.

I predict the crowd to be 57,884.

I got very close last week (29,432 was my guess on last week's thread), and I'm confident I won't be far off this week.

I base this on last week's crowd of Collingwood vs Adelaide (about 41,000), compared with the difference of Melbourne being a Melbourne-based team, minus the few that won't come because it's not a Melbourne home game, minus those who won't come due to predicted rain, minus a few of the magpie hordes who chewed their last few teeth off during last week's loss to the Crows and are still trying to read d.e.n.t.i.s.t. in the phone-book to arrange some dentures. If all fell well for the Pies (their home game), then if the sun decides to shine, 55,311 (though I'll leave my 1st prediction as my official one).

FOR SURE Mont!!! Even though i am going with one.

If we outnumbered the Roos last week then it would have been about 15,000 of us, double that for Filth supporters and ya have ya croud predictions.

49,000. Based on what was at the G last weekend for our game, i'd say we had about 16-18,000 of that 28,000 and that's a home game.

That said, i hope the supporters that went last week saw enough to be encouraged to come again.

Unfortunately, the true fickle nature of the 'loyal' Melbourne Demons supporters will rear its head this weekend.

We play Collingwood again reasonably soon in QB clash, which is OUR home game. Not sure if many Demons will turn up this week.

my guess is, 47, 500..

GO DEES!!

    GAMEDAY: Rd 16 vs Brisbane

It's Game Day and the Dees are deep in the heart of enemy territory as they take on the Lions in Brisbane under the Friday Night Lights at the Gabba. Will the Demon finally be awakened and the season get back on track or will they meekly be sacrificed like lambs to the slaughter?

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.
