Membership comparison

The Febes

Recommended Posts

Looking at the membership numbers posted we look to be travelling okay. I would be one of those optimistic souls who thinks we will surpass the magic 30,000 without any drama. All we need is a competitive start to the year and should we pull off a win or two that will be a bonus.

Dogs 19,688

Lions 20,931

Saints 24246

Power 24,357

DEES 24,453

Cats 25,000

Tiges Cant work out whether the matchday figure of 31,052 includes non Matchday of 7,738 As Pauline says "Please explain"

C/tank 32,161

Pies 36,318

Hawks 43,924 Include approximately 7,000 here in Tassie. With all our Tassie background this should have been us. Green, Febey, Febey, Lyon, Marquis, etc, etc,

i rekon that looks pretty good to me Febes..i mean we are only a few hundred off the Cats who are the reigning Premiers. imagine if we cant beat there memberships after rd 1. Stick it to the AFL. Just wondering tho where did u get that figure? i looked at the MFC website and the counter still says 22,833. I have seen the 24,000 figure floated around and think it may have been in an email update too. can u confirm the figure source plz.

I think its because they have limited seats in their stadium so they can't sell as many conventional memberships as other clubs.

It doesn't matter though as their gameday profit far outweighs the negative.

True.

Thanks for clearing that up mate.

Just to set the record straight.

All the figures quoted came from the individual club sites. Those not shown didn't have any mention of numbers at all.

Now on one G.Lyon. Son of Peter and born in Devonport, Tasmania. Peter was the captain coach of the Devonport team. Then when GL was but a small lad the family moved, (I think back), to Kyabram.

I just HOPE SO MUCH we can win Round 1...Round 2 against the Pies is an away game but we could make some good coin on that day.. Round 1 win Round 1 win..............

Right on the money there, but I hope we and nth for that matter turn up in our 1000's. A crowd of under 45k will be a failure in my eyes for rd 1 weather permitting. Any chance of 25k by the start of next week?

45k will be a stretch for a Sunday 1pm game.

Hoping for more, but with our position and prospects for this year...

Not getting to 45k isn't failing.

rnd 1, 2 vic sides playing. We have 25k members + MCC + General tickets + Roos fans should be well above 40k. Not rnd 18 after a poor year for either club.

I suspect MFC will have 25-30k there, it will be the roo boys that let us down if we are well under 40k.

We played round (4) last year in the game that was moved from the Gold Coast.

It was the Kangaroos "let's show the AFL why we're staying in Melbourne and get along to the game" game.

23,000?

Monty,

25k members wont front to the game. Often its less than a third of members that do go to a game. I would expect possibly half of the MFC members will. Many of the MFC members are also MCC members and will sit in the MCC.

A nice day...30 to 35k.

45k is a pipedream.

Thats right and our form was setting the competition alight rd1-3 last year! Nth is the problem we will be lucky if 5-10k of their fans turn up. I can't understand why they are staying in vic with no supporter base. What will happen if/when they have a couple of bad years. 1st game of the year, like I said if we have less then 25-30k MFC fans turn up

Well we're not exactly blowing the doors off the place now either.....

I agree with Rhino, anything over 30 000 and we will be having a pretty good day.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
