We have a Country/Interstate type membership that gives the members limited number of games for $110.00. I note that Hawthorn's cheapest ticket for their Tasmanian members is $60, which gives them general entry into ALL 4 games played at Aurora.

Hawthorn state that the AFL recognises these memberships & are therefore allocated in their overall membership tally of 50,000.

I think Melbourne should consider a $60/4 game ticket to make available to those members that either can't afford a standard ticket OR are unable to make it to all home games. Not sure what extra numbers this would attract, but the Dorks have over 6,000 Tasmanian members!!!

What do people think?

Does anyone know if our number includes the automatic renewels that are sent out by the club? Is the figure paid up members only, or does it include all the renewals they hope will turn into paid up members?

I received memebership cards for myself and two kids months ago, but only got around to filling them out and returning them today. Will the membership go up by 3 or are just 3 of the already counted members just been confirmed?

Having a cheaper membership whilst maybe inflating the numbers may not increase the monetary figure as people may opt for the cheaper membership instead of the more expensive one....

If true that represents a very good profile of members.

8,000 die hard Hawks is a fantastic contribution.

12,000 juniors augurs well for the future.

It would appear they have very few concessional adult ticket holders. I wonder what clip they get off 19,000 reserved ticket holders.

Well down Hawks. Hell they have an ugly jumper!!

Should do a special Promo for the 30,000th member, offer a free membership to the person that is the 30,000th member only if they sign up on Sunday, it would be plucking a person and hopefully we have 300 sign up but pick a kid how excited would the kid be to win.

Good idea drdrake. But the club would want to get onto it pronto. 30,000 mark might well be passed on Sunday.

30000 now a certainty. Well done to all involved.

Neil Mitchell rung by Colin Sylvia off air to join membership. Neil said Colin didn't know who he was nor did he know what 3AW was when he told him. They had an interesting chat. Neil said to Colin to tune in next morning and he would hear him interview the Prime Minister. Colin asked how John Howard was and then said oh no its that other guy.

My points are that a lot of footballers are not too bright and we should cut them some slack some of the time and that it is good to see the boys helping with membership sales.

PS. On a footy show the boys were shown singing the club song after the win and I have never seen our team sing so enthusiastically after a home and away win. If anyone doubts what winning means to players have a look at that vision.

Membership advances: -

Carlton has almost increased by 1800 members since last update.

Melbourne increased its lead over Sainters as they embark on the 30,000 mark this weekend.

Nth Melb overtook Western Bulldogs (Dogs haven't given update yet).

Contacted both Sydney and Fremantle membership departments for their figures. Fremantle won't let out they're figure until the cut-off I was told, but I managed to smooth talk an approx. figure out of them. ;)

* Are Sydney & Brissy figures a worry do you think for the AFL in terms of GC17 and WS18????

A disgrace I reckon that Mitchell isn't already a member. Is he still giving his money to the Bulldogs?

I'm so glad that this is going so well.....

Last nights TV seemed to be a success (well done to all involved on the phones and to Millsy on The Footy Show), and hopefully it will flow into today as well.

We're nearly at our desired destination (but not stopping hopefully), and I for one am so proud of this club and of its members :D !!!
