Quite right. Insane Indeed. $1m over 3 years I think should be the right market price.

So..a mere 67 grand a year will swing it ??

The argument surely is not about that..thats doggy kibble in the great wash of things

Article from the Australian. SOrry If you have already seen it, hope it hasnt been posted already.

Looks like its off the cards.

Blues win race........etc etc etc

if this is what you're referring to..then we'ver readit...well most of us

The issue however..to which some are attaching a hpoe is that nothing is certain as they say until the fat lady warbles !! Much will depend on the temerity with which Freo come to the table.

its only a 99% certainty at this stage !!

Guest Jack Watts
Ahhh do you think the guy with the usename Jack Watts could change his photo.

I believe i have had that photo as my avitar for a couple of months now.

And i didn't think you could use a footballers name as a username if i am correct.

That's pathetic!

Grow up.....

More than real price/value, but looks to be market price.

$400K per year for 4 yrs is nuts (UNLESS there is a no play/no pay clause, or some sort of incentive clause.)

Yes, more than real price/value, but you've gotta pay a little overs to get them. I agree that $1.6m over 4 years is nuts.

I'm sick of looking in this thread for news about Warnock. If there is more significant pieces of news can't we just start a new thread, instead of merging them all the time.

Everytime I go to Demonland (more often than I should) I see that the thread has been added to and I get all excited because I think there is some news, but alas it is just some tool complaining about something.

I agree.

Have merged threads for the 90% inane banter and allow a new one for any compelling new turn of events. Having said that, I suppose that any new thread will just get clogged up with the same inane banter and speculation.

There's probably no way around it when many post just for the sake of posting.

Sorry, no. I know it's annoying having to flick through a king-sized thread which is mostly full of toss (I do the same thing as you), but the alternative is having the one forum filled with 100 Warnock threads, which IMO is no better.

One alternative is to have a "Trade News" sticky thread that with no conversation, like the Hatch Match & Dispatch thread if anyone can be bothered maintaining it.

Reported on channel 10 in perth that Robbie is considering offers from Richmond, Melbourne and Carlton and will nominate his preference next week.

I thought a journalist in the Australian wrote last week that he already nominated his preference for Carlton.

Is it possible that a journo could get things wrong?

(BTW Warnock played 7 WAFL games this year and didn't score a single vote in the Sandover Medal. I wonder how many votes he polls in the Brownlow?)

This particular Journalist has made it an artform. BTW all those who annually pump up Ryan Murphy's tyres can take an early siesta he and Mundy re-signed with the Dockers today.

Warnock still hasn't decided. His management would be making all the rumoured suggestions. Freo hold power until trade week is over- an if we put forward a good deal then look out carlton. if it doesnt, but carlton dont or richmond dont either, then warnock can walk and we'll take him psd.

Correct. This one will drag out. Freo will keep chirping away for a first round draft pick, and if they don't get what they want they will threaten to send him to the Pre-Season for nothing. That would be what we want. For sure.

Guest uncle joe

If he nominated for this years national draft he would go between 8 & 16 IMO. Carlton won't give up pick 6 , so it's pick 24 and a fringe player . Richmond won't offer a first rounder either , so what's wrong with pick 19 and , say , Bell. Then we have a good young ruckman , which we desperately need . Whatever happens Freo won't let him thru to the PSD .

It's funny, but just now I've gone off Robbie Warnock completely.

How can we expect existing players to help keep a tight rein on player payments then bring in a guy on $300,000+ entirely paid on the basis of 'potential'. I'd want to see a whole lot more before I screwed up our entire salary planning structure.

Remember his stats -

2008 -

9 games, for 11 disposals, 8 hit outs and one tackle per game.

2007 -

12 games for 10 disposals, 10 hit outs and one tackle per game.

As much as they are fine and dandy stats for a young ruckman, they aren't even remotely in the realm of 'major player'. I understand that he has been in Sandilands' shadow and all that, but seriously - we're talking a salary higher than most of our B&F top ten will be on next year.

If he picks MFC, they can't stop it. HE can tho', by insisting on some trade.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
