Hi,

does anyone if the club makes much more out of merchandise sold at the demon shop in the MCG compared to merchandise sold at other outlets

I am feeling all warm and fuzzy after hearing about last nights dinner and want to load up on new demons gear

My understanding is that in terms of actual merchandising revenue, they don't get any more as merchandising is controlled by the AFL, but the profit margins go in to the club's coffers (rather than in to the coffers of K-mart or whoever else).

I could be wrong about the specifics of how that works, but either way, buying merchandise from the MCG shop is definitely better for the club than buying it from anywhere else.

Buy it from the MELBOURNEfc shop.

Thats supporting the club I believe. Its easy to access and has some real good specials at the moment. Merchandise featuring this seasons logo is really cheap. I think the current match jerseys are only $60. Compared to the normal $110.

Buy from the Shop. Always.

A must-get is the DVD It's A Grand Old Flag - it has all the video clips plus hero interviews from the 150 Heroes Dinner and is outstanding viewing. It's a sensational packaged history of the club that contains some very rare footage of our most famous moments - the segments on Robbie Flower and Ron Barassi are outstanding. You can also get the book The Red Fox from the shop - it's a brilliant book on our club's, and the game's, greatest coach.

Buy a set for yourself and don't forget Father's Day is next month.

Does this include the online shop on melbournefc.com.au, or do you have to actually go in store?

I want to buy up too.

The online shop is the same. Every cent you spend at the online or actual megastore helps.

There's also an e-mail address: [email protected]

The It's A Grand Old Flag DVD is priced at $30 and runs for 80 mins.

Dashed down during lunch (glorious day for it) and picked up 150$ worth.

Cuff links should go down well for Fathers Day.

Any thoughts people have on whether they'd get there more often if there was a Demons outlet in the city?

Do you think less full-on supporters might be more inclined to drop in?

It's a bit of a hike a the moment, I think.

I will join in with your bring back the beanie campaign rusty... in fact I bought a beanie a couple of weeks ago from the Vic Markets, complete with red pom pom. If I make it to friday night's game I will be wearing it for sure.

...and many people may not even know it's there.

That's what I mean - I went there with my girlfriend to get some stuff in the end of year sale, when I came down for round 22 last year. Long story short, at first she thought it was some kind of joke when we struck off from Richmond station to nowhere in particular, then she was starting to think I was taking her to a dark alley to strangle her by the time we got down to the street-level underbelly of the 'G.

I'd been there before a number of times, but even I was starting to feel like I was somewhere I shouldn't be by the time we passed the loading dock with the garbage trucks.

And inside, totally silent, as anywhere would be under 1000 tons of concrete and steel.

I personally hate that it's stuck under there. Can you tell?

When i was really little, i remember it being in a little House in Jolimont (to the best of my memory)

Anyone else remember this?

We should've tried to get a spot inside the new stadium inside the ground. If we opened it there on game day, especially if it was near the MCC area, we'd get a much better response to it.

Yes I remember, dad going in there.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
