Heath- Suspended for the rest of the year (including finals if they make it)

Dak- Suspended for the rest of the year (including finals if they make it)

Reece Shaw- has been suspended for 2 weeks for drinking while injured.

Heath and Dak have been finded only $5000.00 by the club.

Still pretty weak I think.

This whole saga is GOLD! While we are not squeaky clean @ MFC, I'm going to be dining out on this for a while. Seems ironic though. Normally you get fans trying to emulate their heroes. Now we've got filth players emulating their fans.

Am happy because they are from Collingwood.

Am outraged because I have them both in my dream team!

Its more than I thought they would get. The pies need these guys desparately if they want to make the finals. I figured they would come up with some soft punishment and a bigger fine.

Hopefully the message will finally get through to a few more AFL players who do stupid things.

I have no time at all for drink drivers, I would of sacked Heath Shaw and left Didaks punishment as just a fine (But I am a lot harsher than most)

I find the Rhys Shaw suspension confusing

You can be an accomplice to a drive by shooting ..... and not get suspended

You can drive a car, have an accident with almost 3 times the legal BAC .... and not get suspended

But having a drink when your injured? Suspension 2 games

About time CFC made a stand like this. Its all fun and games until one of these guys hurts someone or themselves.

They should consider themselves very lucky that all the got was a suspension.

There is absolutely no doubt Collingwood have handled this poorly. Heath Shaw should've been suspended for at least 3 matches for the drink-driving offence yesterday, by not taking any serious action they have been made to look like fools. All of a sudden when they find out Heath Shaw and Didak lie to the club they suspend them for the rest of the year, this is more about them trying to save face then actual punishment.

Suspending Rhys Shaw for 2 matches for heavy drinking is confusing due to what happened with the other two, but would surely have been the action taken by any competant club, and until now they haven't been all the competant!

The sweetest thing about this is that Mick Malthouse, in all his wisdom, set this precedant last year by taking suspensions more-or-less off the table for punishments. It's really come back to bite them now!

To whoever implied the Rhyce Shaw suspension was unwarranted, I'm sure it wasn't just a drink.

Still pretty weak I think.

I think it's a reasonable outcome. It'll be interesting to see what decision's made on their future.

If I were a CFC fan, I'd be hoping we move on Didak.

Typically weak by Colingwood.

If it was Melbourne I'd want both players to be sacked. Drink driving is one thing, lying is another, embarrassing your president, coach, captain and teamates and destroying your club's reputation is another again. Both should have been sacked.

I'm sure it wasn't either. But even if it was heavy drinking, it still highlights how lenient the previous punishments have been at the club in comparison.

Who knows, if they had been harsher in the past, maybe Shaw and Didak would have thought twice about being so stupid

Thats kills my super coach team!!!!

 Actually come to think of it, it may kill off some other teams in my league...I stand a chance to go all the way now! Woohooo! :P

I see a certain dash about shielding your mate in if you have already been lumbered.

I dont understand why the penalties are now overly harsh, except for the fact that the hierarchy have made fools of themselves by lack of research and have over-reacted.

Didak should have shot through or hid under the roses.

He was more than averagely stupid to hang around the scene.

I wouldnt be surprised if everyone collectively gets over their egos and reduces the bans to two or three weeks.

Didak, Shaw out for season

Confirmed.

Will they now tank for the best possible draft picks  ?

In fairness tho, I don't think Heath was trying to copy his supporters. Afterall, the vehicle that he was driving wasn't stolen and there was no mugging reported nearby.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
