Just wondering what your thoughts are on Nick Davis

obviously a lot of conjecture going on about him but I believe given the right environment and a coach who cares he could be a valuable asset to our club. A lot of people will have negative things to say however he is on his last chance and he knows it which makes me think he may pull his head in under bails' guidance. Anyway cant be worse than John Meesen.

On his day, close to the most effective player in the AFL.

To old now though, and to indiscipline, lazy & un-comitted.

2-3 years ago yes, now no.

Davis is exactly the sort of miscreant soul we can do without at Melbourne when Bailey is trying to establish a strong culture. While he can play (though his defensive skills are poor, leaving him outdated), he is a proven flaky character and we're better off without him.

Anyway cant be worse than John Meesen.

I believe he can. Meesen is just embarrassingly below AFL standard and will be gone when his contract expires without any hullaballoo. Davis could come in and negatively influence those around him.

Definitely no thanks! Can't see that he would add any value.

Didn't somebody (Greg Swann?) who is now at Carlton but was once at Collingwood say that Nick Davis was a "bad character" or something along those lines????

We are in a rebuilding phase and therefore need YOUTH! Nobody over 23.

...but I believe given the right environment and a coach who cares...

He's under Roos and the Swans, arguably the best player culture in the comp. If that isn't the right environment for him, nothing is.

He pretty much tops my "do not want" list.

Too old to fit in to our plan, and even if it was a few years ago, I wouldnt bring in someone with a proven poor attitude

i know a certain sydney footballer, no names, says Nick Davis is an absolute [censored], does not give a [censored] about anyone but himself, so no thanks!!

Among the tossers of the game he ranks more highly that Tredrea, Farmer, Chad Cornes and Fevola.

He is in the supertosser league and will be discarded forever at years end.

When he played at Collingwood, he was home sick ...wanted to go back to Sydney. So if he came back down here, the same thing would reoccur. I know this as a fact, because I know his ex girlfriend. And she never went with him back to Sydney.

At Collingwood for the year he was there they nicknamed him " Harvey Norman"......12 months and no interest!

Wouldn't be remotely interested. Would also be competing for a spot which Aussie is and/or Maric could be occupying which would work against their long term development.

Scott or Adam?

Ah!!!!!!!! see I was being careful there, co's I am not sure. The better of the 2????

Apparently there was talk that whichever one wants out, was going to be used as trade bait by WC, plus draft picks, to get Fev.

However, given the breeding of the Selwoods, if the there ended up being no "Fev" deal, I reckon it would be still worth a sniff.

Just reading the title of this thread made me cringe.

Nick Davis is long past his use-by date. Absolutely not a person we should ever consider. I reckon he's played 2 decent games of footy in his career.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
