ok so you didnt say he was 'crap', but you suggested he was bad enough that he would get dropped from the mfc side. we are bottom of the ladder. what ever words you used can be summarised into saying you thought he was crap.

in all honesty i couldnt care a bit for you or your intelligence. i dont need to make you feel welcome and i dont need to be your friend. i was helping you out. your a noob, you obviously need to learn a few things, and your post today, and your subsequent ramblings have indicated you wont be someone worth discussing football with.

i really encourage you to do a bit of research and comment on what you find, or cite specific examples. anything that indicates you have some understand or knowledge about what you are talking about. go ahead i dare ya. if you are insightful or spark interesting discussion, people will show your posts and thread a little more respect. at the moment they have done neither.

I'm surprised that one of the labels given to him is that of 'not caring'. I'd suggest it's probably the opposite.

While harash, the 'slow' tag is closer to the money. Deanox (?) is correct in asserting that he doesn't have that 'burst' at the moment. I'm not sure whether he'll ever develop it, but if he did, he'd be a very, very, good player.

As for suggesting he's in danger of losing his spot in the team, that's ridiculous. He'd be one of the first written down each week.

i want to know peoples opinion on mr mclean. i was watching him in the queens birthday clash against the scum and to me he seems fat and slow, players were passing him with ease, also his attitude is poor; looks like he doesn't give a [censored], for a man that has be lauded by others and himself as a future captain i think he'll be lucky to get a game if he doesn't improve. people will argue about his injuries but if you're injured dont play!

what do u think????

Tarzan? More like Jane.

sorry to be picky jaded but maybe you should do some research yourself, he isn't 9th in the afl for disposals..he is equal 10th on 276 for the year.

Equal 9th according to Pro Stats (on 281): http://www.pro-stats.com.au/psw/web/player_rankings?rt=LT.

Can't believe you actually bothered bringing this up and looking at comparative stats. Does it really make a difference to my argument if he's on 276 and 10th or on 281 and 9th?

And a player who doesn't care does not find himself on the bottom of packs every week. That assertion was probably the most idiotic thing written in this thread, and that says a lot.

Man - Jaded, Deanox, DazzleDavey, Yze_Magic all laying the smackdown.

Rightly so, given the absurd proposition and it's agressive delivery from Tarzan16.

Makes me go all warm and fuzzy - it's the Demonland team, somehow we get along even though we'd probably mostly give eachother the right S$%^ts in real life.

Personally, I think there is a ton of upside to Chook. He is certainly getting better as this year progresses yet is still to reach the dizzy heights since his performance in the 06 Elim against the Saints. Sure he is not quick but you`ve gotta love his hardness and that is what this team needs more than anything to get the credibility back and some respect from opposition. Sit back and watch, when our young team starts to gel in 12 months time, I reckon this bloke will stand up as much as anyone in the team!

Interesting discussion here.......

McLean is slow. Not too slow. Just slow. There are plenty of slow midfielders in the comp. What he lacks in pace he makes up for in strength, aggression, possessions and to a lesser extent, leadership. He also takes the opposition tagger, freeing up Jones.

Posted
If Melbourne are to win a flag in the near future then they cannot rely on McLean as the number one midfielder.

Exactly, for McLean to blossom he needs assistance in the middle.

have you looked at the stats of the game? do me a favour, bring up his stats, and paste them here. then we can chat about his game. out of interest, also paste scott burns stats, he was lauded as best on ground by many i think.

Stats don't mean much.

I watched a bit of the game and he had about 10 touches in that time but not of them were overly damaging, 2 or 3 kicks that went 20m to a one-on-one.

Its ok, I know what it is like to have people jimp on me.

If you need any advice, send me a PM.

I am the most respected poster on here and Demonology, and am happy to give advice to the young up sand comers.

Brock goes in harder than anyone else in our team, except for maybe Jones. Difference is Brock gets ball around the ground to and uses it well.

Brock is having a good season so far, and is battling hard in a poor team with a slow and often inexperienced midfield. Criticizing him is idiotic.

whats a noob??

i'm not sure about everyone else but the irony in that statment is phenomenal. lol

a 'noob' is someone new who tends to say/ask dumb things or questions, and ask questions that have been asked lots before, instead of searching the forum.

Stats don't mean much.

true EB, but they can often give a good indication of where to start. the bowden bros are perfect examples of stats dont matter.

Not that it gives me any pleasure to bring this thread up again, but what were you saying tarzan16? :D

Another great game from the Brock. Disposal was spot on, quick handballs in close were terrific.

Not only that but he showed some fantastic leadership out there. Sought out Morton and told him to keep his head up after he fluffed yet another kick.

Oh and a player who doesn't care doesn't get his nose broken twice in 3 weeks because he is constantly on the bottom of packs.

Ahhhhhhh so that's what all the attractive tape was for. Now it all makes sense.

My only issue with McLean is that he thinks he's sooooo much quicker than he really is but other than that, great game Brock.

Posted

Geez Brock looks like he's running in quicksand at times, he is so slow, yet he has the quickest football mind of anyone on our list, which separates him from the good and the great players on our list. My tip for the Bluey Truscott, and a re-elevation back into the leadership group next year.

Agree.

There will be very few left of the existing leadership group next year. Positions aplenty

Only Miller deserves to stay from the current group.

McLean, Green, possibly Jones are all definite inclusions.

In fact, why do we need 7 leaders?

Green and McLean as co-captains will do nicely.

I hate co-captains.

It's about the only thing that Leigh Matthews has done with which I disagree.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
