I am completely fed up of this player. Too many of his decisions are terrible and today hand balled to collingwood players outside the goal square twice. Many more clangers were made by him. Garland has shown more to date than Bell has and ill be the first to say he is the worst player on our list who has played more than 50 games.

get rid of him. i dont care if we need to pay him out. Completely out of his depth

Ease up.

The guy is out of form and low on confidence. Last year he showed good form and we were praising him.

There are no other replacements worthy yet.

He has never been "in form".

He has been on the list too long.

He is probably a good bloke but has been responsible for losing too many games for Melbourne.

I dont think he is disappointing as I have never seen him as an asset to the side.

How long since he has played at Sandy anyway? three years?

He has been lucky to be in the side the past 2 weeks after being dropped and brought back in. Very lucky.

This week, he wont be so lucky. Get the kid back to Sandy to find some form. Also, ban him from handballing. His several sissy attempts to handball today were laughable. If your gonna handball it Belly, put a bit of force into it! Dont treat it like a newborn puppy.

In the last couple of years he has played a handfull of really good games amongst some pretty poor performances, and I think most of us expected him to start stringing more of the good performances together as he gained experience, but this year he has completely lost confidence and looks terribly out of his depth. I think there are others on the list who are dead wood more so than Bell, and I think he will stay, but he needs to start turning it around, and really should be back at Sandy next week. Reward CJs form with a game.

An absolute hack. How many times did he handball it to another collingwood player today€?

His endeavour is fantastic but his decision making and disposal are well below par. Players like him need to be weeded out of the side and list as soon as possible.

Yep.

Bell had a true shocker today.

Some of it was just plain bad luck.

Plenty of it was just plain bad.

To Sandringham for a while. If he's gonna get some decent form going it's gonna be with enough headspace - he is not going to improve or build confidence when he's being soundly beaten each week.

Whelan, CJ and Petterd seem the options.

Perhaps I was a little harsh in labelling him a hack but he's just been so dissapointing. Totally lacks a feel for the game aka his tackle on Tarkyn Lockyear when he jsut went in head first and let him kick the goal. Also just watching the news, how bout his kick in straight to Davis.

You guys obviously have higher expectations of him than I do. He's an OK defender, quick and hard at it but with poor decision making, and panics under pressure. Having said that he's easily in our best 22. There's no way he should be dropped before Bode for instance, I'd drop Moloney before him too.

i have higher expectations because he was a first round draft pick. thats not bell's fault, but i just want to see something from him to justify why c.c thought he was worthy of first round.

He's not out of contract unfortunately as i would be happy trading him and getting anything for him, even a round 4 or 5 pick. I just hope injury comes his way giving another player a go for the rest of the season.

CJ has been BOG 2 weeks in a row at Sandy, needs to be given a go..NOW

I like his aggression at the ball, however his disposal makes him a liability in the backline.

Maybe we should try him as a defensive counter attack off a HFF ????

I've always wanted him to play in the midfield, and I believe that's the position he was drafted for.

He is really really struggling, especially with his disposal under pressure and he needs time back at Sandy. Maybe he can get some game time in the midfield with Sandy, and return to replace Moloney in a few weeks?

l reckon he was going alright up until he nearly got his neck broken by Johnson against the filth last year, has played with no confidence since.

That's true that. I almost totally forgot about that!

Many people, including myself i'll admit, have short memories. He was killing it up until that sickening collision.

I really hope he can go back to some great performances in the VFL to regain his confidence, as i dont think he's as bad as is being made out on here.

I've mentioned this a few times before, but no takers. Bell as a Defensive Forward ?

Just about cost us the game today - there was at least three occasions where he gifted away goals

Had a chance to keep the flame burning with that late shot on goal but of course he missed

Gutfull

Lost all respect for Bell today!! When he kicked it out of the square to Davis for that goal it was disgracefull. He needs to go! totall underachiever. I was sitting with a few filth supporters and I had to hang my head in shame, it was pathetic. He is what is wrong with this club.

 So if he gets dropped we will win the rest of our games this season and challenge for the 8

he's not finished FFS, stupid comment

he has gone back ALONG WAY, his position is hardly safe in the team when he can be replaced easily by 5-6 players...

bode frawley CJ buckley etc.....

if he plays like he has been..... he can say goodbye at season end

Posted

No we won't, but it will be a start to getting this club back on track. How long has everyone be saying that he is not preforming, but he keeps taking the field.

I love Belly's endeavour, but his decision-making is often disgraceful and he has absolutely no peripheral vision. I really hope the guy can turn the corner because he had a really solid year last year.

PS - He should never kick in again.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
