How about 10, Neal-Bullen and a swap of next years second rounders for Lever? Wonder if they are prepared to back themselves for next season.

Why not the team.?????????

Essendon's salary cap will be interesting - or is it all just paid out to the old drug boys as 'compensation monies'???  Now that Daniher won mark of the year (ha ha) his value at contract time must sky rocket!

Why the hell does everyone want to go to Essendon, and how are they going to get all these players surely stringer and smith are worth a 1st rounder each

Playing for everyone's second team would be a real shot in the arm.

Dodoro will offer next year's 4th round pick and a packet of used syringes - and then complain that he doesn't understand why the Bummers have a reputation of being "hard to deal with".

I can imagine there's plenty of unhappiness. Even Jones looks like a fool now for putting the boot in thinking it was about pushing higher standards, now it's just become pushing Watts out the door.

Laughable.

Believe he signed a new contract this year and he took a pay cut for his love of Essendon (~$750,000/year).

Everyone as in no inside mids who they identified as a dire need? Essendon can be as fast as they like but if they're not winning it out of the middle then it should be enough to get the 4 points from them again. We should really swoop in on Saad though.

Essendon's young midfield is seriously impressive. They probably lack a bit of depth like we do, but I reckon they'll be pushing top 4 next year.

Where would we play Saad when we have Hunt running off half back/wing? Is his disposal better than Hunt and what are his defensive skills like?

As an update to my previous post, I am yet to get a name but apparently this quality midfielder has given a verbal desire to join us. Name apparently isn't circulating at all in the media yet.

Bombers are going to be lightning moving the ball. I expect them to be a very high scoring team. Stringer, Smith & Saad are all burst players and will open the opposition up.

Dees need too get some quickness into the side asap.

This is getting exciting, most of us won't be buying books anytime soon.

Apparently he has something in common with JW. Poor attitude and not fit and not prepared to do the hard work. Maybe he wants to get back home.

Word before the draft was homesickness was a big concern and I’ve heard it is one of the major factors now. I think he needs to head home

Explains the watts situation and why we cant trade next years first.

You really think.. just laughable ? Interesting.

Personally i think theres a bit to this.

Jacks been setup ( partly with his own doings ) to be scapegoated out the door.

Looks like club had all but spent its il gotten gains on getting other players.

Shame Jack never got that memo.

Good bad or indifferent he just wants to play football for the Dees...and he can...up to club whether 1sts or magoos granted.

Little oversight there at AAMI

A lot of bullshlt emanating from MFC at the moment.

Hope they pay more attention to the rest of this summers dealing.

I will take a guess and say Blicavs.

Plays as a midfielder and can ruck.

Goody waiting on Jack to nominate Cats.

Watts & 27 for Blicavs & 3rd round pick.

I dont know how. But I can see Aaron Hall landing at the Dees in Ablett trade.

Bliclavs is more of a relief ruckman/wing though, would he qualify as a midfielder? More the hybrid type? I seriously hope it's someone like Dylan Shiel with the outside pace we desperately need. Him leaving also fits in the narrative of GWS not playing as a team all year because the place is a shambles with everyone wanting out.

Pretty certain it’s from a vic club, so is isn’t Shiel.

Sidebottom or Isaac Smith is my guess... but I’m horrible at these games!!

I know you don't have a name but do you have a educated guess based on your info?

Blicavs is a man without a position...

...has his moments but doesn't excel at any.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
