  2. The word "hero" gets thrown around a lot, but those who listen to Trade Radio so that we don't have to truly are heroes.

  3. Lol, Fitzy taking up a rookie spot would be the end for you? Really? Come on, mate. You've hung around this long, you're not going anywhere.

  6. As said earlier, I've been told by Tommy himself that hes agreed to a contract with us. Although it was acknowledged anything could happen between clubs before the deal goes through but he has committed to us on his end

  7. Anything else Melbourne related discussed? Any further news on the Chris Dawes rumour for example? The Toump trade seems like one that would make sense, although I'm probably in the minority who would be slightly disappointed to see him go after only a few seasons on the list. Still felt there was something there to work with, but if the club feels there isn't then I'm happy to (begrudgingly) back them in.

  8. Gah ill say it, the term of the deal is looking like 6 years ontop of the two he has, and it's looking "positive"

  14. Hilarious to Connors imploring the Crows to accept a compo pick. I think I've said it before, but those claiming that talks between Adelaide & Geelong are "amicable" also happen to be those that have an interest in a quick, cheap & easy transition for Danger; those being Danger himself, Connors and Geelong.

  16. The Dawks have some form in this area, think Jonathan Hay and Nathan Thompson, both traded out for good picks but struggled with their own mental demons at their new club. I am sure they wanted to do all they could to help Hay and Thompson and would have disclosed all they knew, they are the family club after all. Did they knowingly send a similar problem in Buddy off to one of their major competitors for the FA compo that looked like unders at the time?

  22. Funny that, Crossy's made no announcements on his movements next year. I'd be gutted if he moved to another club as a development coach. He's had such a tangible impact on training standards by our kids.

  24. The Day's Highlights [5/10/15] Carlton's Chris Yarran has requested to be traded to Richmond. Carlton footy boss Andrew McKay says the Blues will look to secure a first round pick from the Tigers in exchange for Yarran in this year's Trade Period. Melbourne's Jack Watts wants to stay at the Demons, but his manager Paul Connors says "never say never" when it comes to a potential move. It's understood the Demons are exploring their options with Watts. In some good news for Brisbane Lions fans, ruckman Stefan Martin will remain at the club next season. His manager Paul Connors revealing that Martin wasn't going anywhere in season 2016. The race for Brisbane ruckman Matthew Leuenberger appears down to two, with his manager Paul Connors confirming he would move to either the Bombers or the Swans during the trade period. Aaron Black has requested to be traded away from the Kangaroos. His manager Jason Dover confirmed on NAB Trade Radio today that he was pursuing further opportunities elsewhere. Lewis Jetta's manager Paul Connors has confirmed on NAB Trade Radio that the Sydney speedster wants to return to Perth and has decided to leave the Swans. NAB Trade Radio understands he wishes to move to the Eagles. The race for Brisbane ruckman Matthew Leuenberger appears down to two, with his manager Paul Connors confirming he would move to either the Bombers or the Swans during the trade period. Carlton footy boss Andrew McKay has revealed the Blues expect a first round pick from Geelong in exchange for Lachie Henderson. The Cats have revealed they are also keen on securing Henderson. Carlton footy boss Andrew McKay has also revealed the Blues will consider recruiting Jake Carlisle in the pre-season draft, should they not be able to secure a trade with the Bombers. New Essendon coach John Worsfold has indicated the Bombers may be interested in recruiting Harley Bennell from the Suns. Worsfold told NAB Trade Radio today the Bombers were interested, but would need to research his commitment into upholding the club's standards first. Patrick Dangerfield's manager Paul Connors says Dangerfield "will be playing for the Cats next year". Connors has also called on the Crows to accept the free agency compensation (currently pick 14) in exchange for losing Dangerfield. Quote from Damian Barrett on Twitter "@traderadio: Barrett: It's absolutely locked in the Buddy deal will have to be portioned to the Swans cap to the end of the deal until '22 #NABTradeRadio"

  28. No it doesn't. Frawley showed 10x more in his career at the Demons than Howe has shown. He was AA and consistently shut down the best forwards playing in one of the worst teams of all time! Howe hasn't done much in his career to date.

  30. If thats the case id rather players that 'desperately' want to play for the club then money grubbers like Howe. Good on Watts

  31. Perhaps a slight exaggeration in the cool light of day It's not Fitzpatrick per se, more-so it would signal the club is still making poor decisions. That said, it won't happen.

  32. What the Dawks have identified a slight need for a role player on the half back flank, but only if two other preferred players get injured or something? Gee I hope they get their man!

  33. John Ralph on fox did say he spoke to Hogan yesterday and was very optimistic and positive for the future ahead for the club. Tipping he will sign a long term deal. Roosy then said they sat down with him and told him about the bond of playing with your mates rising up together. Was all positive.

  34. Toumpas averages more disposals than Melksham, albeit plays less. Not sure it's a great move. But I guess they're pushing Toumpas out anyway, so may as well get something for him.

  38. I always thought Pederson offered more in both marking prowess and goal kicking ability . Also believed Fitzy or Frost added a little more X factor ,as well as Wattsy so far as having some impact on the scoreboard. Dawesy competed well, but in the end never took enough marks in kicked enough goals. In the last round when we had Oscar down back, I thought Dunn looked really good up forward.

  39. As much as I am not a fan of the NRL, it's a shame the Hawks and Eagles couldn't have turned on a game that had the excitement factor that was just seen in the NRL GF between the North Qld Cowboys and Brisbane Broncos. The Cowboys were trailing by 4 points (a try) and right on full time (80th minute) they scored a try in the corner to bring the scores level. The ensuing place kick from the sideline was curving and looked to be heading through between the uprights, but just caught enough of the near post to force the ball back into the field of play and no score. This meant extra time (golden point). Cowboys had first use and kicked the ball towards there scoring end for the Broncos to take possession and attempt to work the play back to their half. Unfortunately, their player dropped the ball, knocking on and the Cowboys got the scrum feed which eventuated in them scoring a field goal and winning by a single point. An unbelievable last few minutes!

  41. While it has been reported elsewhere, and I believe Channel 7 was the first, the above is never a reason to start a thread on here. The sooner people realise Facebook is a horrid place and not worth your time for trade rumours then the better of we'll all be. IF we were to trade Dawes then you would hope we had a replacement all lined up. While Dawes certainly hasn't set the world alight he does take the pressure off Jesse, and with Fitzy being delisted it leaves us with Pedersen... and not much else. I hope the FD know what they're doing if these rumours are true.
