Bush Demon, I've been an administrator of this site for 8 years and a member for 11. I like to think that for the most part during that time that I've been relatively civil and set a decent example. I am also a human being and sometimes I also just want to say what is on my mind. Boorish chest beating agitates me and all that thread was about was TPM giving himself a soapbox to stand on to tell us about how wrong we were and what a genius is. Threads like that have no place here and it deserved to be shut down. I also let slip how I felt about it in my response - probably not my best ever judgement, but again, I'm only human.7 points

Melbourne win a game of footy and this is your first post in eight months. Tom McDonald is coming off a career best game against Riewoldt. Missed you Freak. Pure gold..5 points

Mark Neeld sucked the life out if this list. Neil Craig just might get it back. We won tonight thankfully. The belief will come. Mark Neeld what the F did you do for 18 months???????5 points

For all those who are somehow disappointed with this win (as opposed to bloody relieved), remember that just last week the greatest team of all time lost from pretty much the same position. Conclusion = Melbourne is now better than Geelong.5 points

I know it wasn't pretty, but the boys got to sing the song, that is all I care about. These poor blokes have been through the ringer and thankfully they at least get a reward.5 points

I wish all our players had poor kicking actions if this is the result.5 points

SIGN HOGAN FOR 19 YEARS. OMG!!! Not even Melbourne can [censored] him up.5 points

Thanks for selling him Filth. He is what you lack. Enjoy the Q stick [censored].4 points

Did M. Night Shamalan write that game thread. Like going inside the head of self-loathing schizophrenic. Happily we played three quarters of footy. Enjoy it. Wins are hard, whether you come from behind or stay in front at the death.4 points

Gawn was shot in the last and Minson and the dogs mids sensed it. They just ran forward of the ball and it all started from there. Its hard for a team to know how to protect a lead when they never lead. Build on the first three quarters, learn from the last.4 points

Bloody oath. Not only was the free given to the incorrect team, it hit the bulldog's knee anyway; so the umpire got it wrong twice in the same free kick. Good going ump!4 points
-
The umpires almost cost us the game by giving the Dogs free kick for Out on the full when it came off a Dog players leg, they goit a goal and cut the margin to 2 points. Absolutely disgraceful effort by the maggots. Great win, we are in much better shape than the Dogs who have absolutely no KPP's on their list that are worth a damn. Great to see Gawny towel up that Minson loser.4 points

Leadership - Tick Kicks goals - Tick Experienced - Tick I never rated the guy at the Pies, but he makes a huge difference to this side! Will be even better when Hogan and (if he ever recovers) Clark come back into the side. Love this guy!3 points

Also - Women can play football! Women footballers could probably play football a lot better if they were not systematically excluded from participation in all the main development pathways from the age of 12. Chelsea Randall's daughter might have a fair shot if progress keeps being made and the idea that Women Can Play Football becomes a normal one.3 points

Longsleeves. Should be more of it. Schwartz, Yze now Dawes. I like it3 points

Leadership - Check. Toughness - Check. Step ladder for Jeremy Howe to take hangers over - Massive Check.3 points

My take tonight is the Neeld Melbourne would have been beaten comfortably, Under Craig, we dominated and the bulldogs pulled out all stops to beat us and we hung on. its a big difference. We looked a totally different team to the one ive seen under Neeld.3 points

To me, that Jack Watts mark in the backline in the dying seconds kind of validates the time he spent down there over the past few years. To be able to do that as a forward (probably without having been instructed to do so) will be very handy in the coming years.3 points

I actually want to cry watching Hogan. Can't remember the last time I was this in love with a player. Bring on 2014, and FFS Melbourne lock him away for 10.3 points

What a pathetic little offering this OP is. Got a problem with a mod? Write a PM you [censored] and stop being a self indulgent, self righteous attention seeking individual that you are. If you're a mod and you take the job seriously you're forced to read through reams and reams of brainless crap day after day after day and what do you get for your efforts. This sort of shyte. Get a life Bush Demon, Really, haven't you got something better to do? No wonder I resigned as a mod. FM. http://demonland.com/forums/index.php?/topic/34353-the-dismissal-of-2013-not-unlike-that-of-1976/ Beautiful work Nasher, some of your best.3 points

I am currently reading the book written by Roos and his wife Tammi " Life is Sport, Sport is Life". From what I have read, we can all rest assured that money won't be the main factor and if his wife is against it, end of story. Not only is Roos working in the media and for the Swans, he is also a very sought after motivational speaker. He doesn't need the money. He will do it if he is motivated and his family is happy about it. As a side note, if the book is accurate, he is a very decent person and his family have very good values. PS. Tanking would have been totally repugnant to him.3 points

Is it unethical for a mod to call a poster a self-indulgent knob, close the thread and give him no right of reply? Oops.3 points

I think we need to take best available, we made the mistake before of picking on type of player. If Boyd is it then we should take him.3 points

The AFL should introduce a pre-match women's league, where each team of the AFL fields a female team.... Much like in the old days, when the reserve's would play before the match, only it would be the women...... It could draw more women in to our sport....... The Olympics has women, the Tennis has women, why can't the AFL? What's the chance of have both teams at the bottom of the ladder? Might be nice to not lose complete interest in the AFL, because your team can't win.....2 points

Newtonian physics is not gonna help him umpire a game of footy. The problem with contemporary umpiring is that the personnel generally have little or no feeling for the spirit of the game and make decisions which are based upon temporary and variable instruction. If he was looking to make a name for himself he has done that. Not a good career move though.2 points

The shape of Carltons list is irrelevant in this instance. What Carlton needed was a culture coach in the mould of Roos, Thompson, Hinkley or a Longmire. Carlton got Malthouse, who is far from a culture builder. Carlton needed a culture builder as they tanked and that is firmly ingrained within that team. Until Carlton strip themselves back and bare their souls, they will just be thereabouts.2 points

I'm all for it, if you're not into it, don't watch it. It'd definitely draw more people to the game, people going to see their daughters/granddaughters/sisters/friends play when they otherwise wouldn't bother. It'd make more teenage girls choose to play footy knowing that there's a professional league they could aspire to. That means more fit girls that like football, less uhhh... non fit girls that whinge about football. What's the point of tommorow nights match if it isn't being televised by the way?2 points

I'll be taking my girls down to the "G" this weekend for the opportunity to see women representing the MFC!! Wow its happened faster than i could imagine.... And I feel really proud of my club, for being the front runners!! Cant wait!! C'mon Girls!! Show them how its done!! Anybody who supports women's footy and wants this to be a regular event.... get along early to tomorrow's game!! And see the MFC victorious.... Go Dees!!2 points

PJ has stated that we have nothing to fear in this regard. I doubt this bloke would come out with that given his factual nature. I'm confident we're in the clear.2 points

Why not, we have probably retarded his development enough to safely say he won't play 100 AFL games (sarcasm).2 points

I think we should prepare ourselves for the very real possibility that we will have pick 1, not 2.2 points

I like the idea of a Lingerie League before the match . As long as the chicks are all hotties. We dont want it to turn into some unsightly spectacle .2 points
