hello everyone,

i usually not one for crazy early season rumours, but i found this one interesting and i have heard it 2 or 3 times now.

Kerr is looking to get out of Perth, needs a freshen up apparently. He has a preference, and it is Carlton from all reports.. would the Dee's be interetsted in him..

i would think so especially if he slips through to the Pre season draft...

That rumour went around about Embley last year.

BTW, whether its said once or 100 times, a rumour is speculation in absence of fact.

You dont have to be so serious Rhino all the time and such a smart ar$e and act like you know more about everything than anyone in the world. If you read my post properly, i said it was a rumour and that is all it is, i'm just posing a question mate...

LIGHTEN UP!

We may be in the box seat come preseason draft time to snag the best available unhappy player. 2003 there was Jade Rawlings (He was good back then) and Nick Stevens. We got left with Phil Read....

Pretty sure he is contracted til the end of 2009

Would happily take him, in the psd would be great but as someone has already said he may be contracted to '09

Ben Cousins will be a demon in 2009

....without much substance mate.

Given MFC's plight its a bleedin obvious we would look seriously at anyone who could play to that standard coming through the PSD.

Mate, I'd love to have both of Kerr and Cousins, although I'm sure it's a view not popular on this forum

I think Ben Cousins has been playing with Demons for quite a few years

The last thing i want to see is him prove it by wearing our guernsey

I would love Kerr to come to our club. He is an absolute gun.

IMO i always had Judd, Kerr and Cousins (in that order) when they were at their peak.

Well I would first see how well he improves at W.C. this year coping with a heavy tag, but nonetheless of course we would take him if available. Though we all know that he either won't leave, or if he does will probably want to go somewhere where he returns to being no 2. So he would really have to want to come here for us to get him. Btw, who did he support in his youth? Wasn't us was it?

The full moon 's around again Rino, & you were doing so well the last couple of weeks.

He wants to follow his mate to Carlton.

He is contracted untill the end of 2009 but if he really wants to go i reckon a deal could be done as WCE would want to get something for him. Especially if their season keeps going the way it is and they might have to start look at rebuilding the list with youth for a tilt at the premiership in 5 years time.

I thought the rumour was that he wanted to be where ever Judd was?

yeah i thought the same. although getting there might be a problem.

FWIW i rate Kerr higher than Judd, and it's not just cos he might become available, i had the same opinion last year when Judd said he was coming home.

Fact: Kerr is a gun

Fact: Kerr is a F#$K Head

Fact: Carlton cannot afford him

Fact: The MFC is the most unattractive football club in Victoria for out of contract players. (it is true guys, we have shitful facilities, an underdeveloped list, and a club that has some off field problems)

We will have a dip, WC will ask the world for him considering they are rebuilding. We are also rebuilding, we could use a hard player like Kerr. Even if he is mental.

As for Ben cousins, he could go anywhere. Would love him at the dees, can see the woods getting his signature though.

Hmm. If Kerr wants Carltank, they will work something out - don't you worry.

Re Judd, I disagree - Judd is the better. Judd is performing at C, Kerr is struggling under tagging at WC.

Don't want Kerr if it means giving up draft picks, it isn't healthy. Unless we trade for those picks.

We are suffering right now because our talent is either high 20s or 23 and younger. Getting old and slow vs. untried and inexperienced. It's carryover from our draft penalties in '99 and '00 (and Luke Molan in '01).

If we can muscle someone into the PSD, the more power to us. That's what is there for.

I propose a forum wide ban on anyone using the draft penalties as an excuse for our current plight, over the last decade we've wasted far more first and second round picks than those couple of penalties.

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025. The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence.
