Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

They are not far off.

It was a fast good standard game where both teams had a red hot dip.

Carlton were punished by too many selfish non team orientated acts by some of their players who will not take the team or first option. Nick Stevens who burnt in the first qtr ran out off legs in the last. This possibly was not helped by two injuries on the bench reducing rotation.

Carlton can't get another priority pick can they? Once you receive one for two years down its another two years before you can get the next one right?

It's a rolling two years, they will get #1 pick if they get less than 16.5 points.

3 teams will get a priority pick. We have to win 4 not to to get 1, Carlton 5 and Richmond 6. You have to win more than 8 games in 2 years not to get a priority. We are the worst team by a mile and don't look like winning 1 game let alone 4, so we should have picks 1 and 4.

This misconception has been highlighted many times in other threads.

You need to win less than 5 games two years in a row. It is not accumulative to 8 games or less over two years.

Where does it say this ? So we can go winless for the entire and only get pick 3. What a mess the priority system is now.

Hmm... you posted that immediately before the good competitive effort against the premiers at their home ground.

I'm feeling more positive than that. We can even give the Kangaroos a tough battle, maybe even take home the four points next week. Still Bate and Whelan to come in, at the least.

What I saw on Sunday was the coach giving the team more freedom to kick, and the team also doing a little better on the run-and-carry passages. We also are yet to show any reliance on stars, which is positive...

...compared to Carlton, who have their two 'marquee' players BOTH play absolutely blinders (Judd/Fevola) and they STILL lose.

Guys, I think we can stop worry about the priority pick order. We'll win at least half a dozen over the season, no doubts.

Carlton are rubbish and will not win four games this year. They don't know how to win, Losing culture its hard to break it.

Fear not my friends

Brett Ratten didn't realise that they no longer need to tank; he forgot.

Apparently, Dicky Pratt tapped him on the shoulder and said it's ok now if he wins a couple of games and that Chris Judd won't be going anywhere.

Seriously, what a disgrace of a football team!

Richmond, Essendon, Carlton and Melbourne will make up the bottom 4 and Carlton have lost to 2 of those sides already.

Melbourne on the other hand have lost to the teams currently sitting 1st, 2nd and 3rd in consecutive weeks. In fairness we wouldn't have beaten any teams in weeks 1 and 2 with those insipid efforts but based on yesterdays efforts I think we are good enough to beat the 3 aforementioned teams.

3 - 6 wins for all 4 of those mobs for mine. How results between the 4 of them go will determine final positions.

The reason they are 1st 2nd and 3rd are because they DID play us....

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,
