now we have picks 4, 14, 21, 53, 69 and 3 in the PSD. 6 picks

assuming Bode has been promoted, that leaves us with 5 spots on the list, plus danny hughes as rookie

my thoughts are one of Holland, Warnock, or Ferguson will be shown the door to accomodate essentially pick 69.

My pick is Ferguson to be the last one delisted.

What will happen to Hughes? He has been on the rookie list now for two years and either has to be delisted or promoted.

Good call youami, I think you may be right.

Dutchy has shown that, while he may not be a superstar, he is more than capable of taking a big defender, making contests, and bobbing up for the odd goal or two. He's also handy down back. Might I put myself on the line and say that he has given us great service. He also has super biceps, which is a plus.

And Warnock's still young for a key position type. He's probably got another year or two to show a bit more.

This is unfortunate for Ferguson, because I like him very much. He's clearly courageous and has a pretty sound football brain. But he just hasn't put the bulk on that he needs to hold down a key defensive post, and I'm not sure he's quick or creative enough to work in the back half in any other way.

It's sad, because he seems like a genuinely good guy, but I have the feeling he'll be the unlucky one, especially as he was a real project for Daniher, and Bailey may not have the same emotional attachment to him.

If it is him, I hope he finds another club.

Warnock would be my choice.

We may choose to not use our pick 69 instead though.

Ferguson is almost certain to get the chop.

Holland fills an occasional hole that no-one else on the list can fill.

Warnock is young, and is largely unknown. Bailey could turn him into something, who knows, maybe even send him forward.

Ferguson is Ferguson. He'll never be big or strong, he'll never read the play like Rivers does. He'll always be a depth player.

Time to bid him farewell.

Ferguson.

Hughes got nice hands but again has a small body.

Ferguson is a must to stay, he has a bit of dustin fletcher about him, runs with the flight of the ball, has courage. Melbourne will NEVER win a flag with holland in the team...NEVER!!!!!!!!

I would chop Warnock

Holland never plays a bad game

Bailey will make something out of Ferguson

So, assuming we pick up half a dozen 18-year-olds in the draft, how much have we lowered the average age of the team by since round 22? :)

Holland never plays a bad game, are you watching the same team, your cred is really on the line man...

I think this week I've read that Ferguson is...

- The same as Rivers

- Has a bit of Dustin Fletcher in him

- Will magically stack on the weight for his 27th birthday

I would like all those people who actually believe that, to send me a PM with the number of their dealer. I would love to be on whatever trip you are on!

now we have picks

Pick 4 - Best player available - lets pray its Cotchin

Pick 14 - KP Forward/Back - We might be pleasantly surprised

Pick 53 - CAC Famous "Smokie"

Pick 69 - PASS or Recycled Player depending who is avaliable

Pick 85 - PASS

and 3 in the PSD.

YOu watched any Demon games the last 2 seasons?

Every time Holland has come into the team he has either-

- played forward and taken contested martks , kicked goals and provided a contest

OR

- played back on the oppositons big forward and completely destroyed them

Assuming 40 players on our list and assuming all recruits were born on 1st September 1989 (not including rookies) at 1st April 2008 our average age will be 23.8

Our list last year had an average age of 24.4 years.

Last time I looked at a "ladder" of team averages ages there was less than 2 years average between the very top and very bottom.

I reckon the median age is a better stat, but even then it's probably going to be around the 25 mark most of the time. Better yet, numbers on the distribution of ages.

Picks 4, 14 and 21 - BEST AVAILABLE in my opinion.

2 of the 3 should be best available and the other we should focus on getting a Key defender.

Is Holland worth more to us than pick 69? Yes.

Is Warnock worth more to us than pick 69? Yes.

Is Ferguson worth more to us than pick 69? Hrm.

Warnock still has a year to run on his contract. Fergs for mine.

Would be interested in the average age of the best 22 from each team.

I'd be happy if anyone one of Yze, Ferguson, Holland, Warnock, Jamar or P.Johnson were delisted.

Actually, now that I think about it some more if you replace the word 'happy' with 'absolutely ****ing delighted' it would be a fairer reflection of my feelings.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
