Well richmond and carlton win next week and we get the number one pick!

Could be very handy to have a certain 200cm prospect.

If Carlton and Richmond win, then MFC are spooners ( )

MFC get picks 1,17(PP), 18, 34,50,66...

Neither Richmond or Carlton get a PP. Great stuff. MFC gets a 2nd round PP.

If Carlton wins but Richmond lose then MFC is 2nd last.

MFC gets 2, 18(PP),20,36,52,68.

Richmond and MFC get a 2nd round PP each.

If MFC wins and Richmond wins

MFC gets 4, 20,36,52, 68

Carlton gets the spoon and a 1st round PP. (ie Picks 1 & 2). Richmond get no PP pick 3. MFC get no PP and pick 4

If MFC wins and St Kilda wins -most likely outcome IMO <_<

MFC gets 4,21,37, 53, 69

Tigers get the spoon and a 2nd round PP (18). Carlton will get picks 1 (1sr round PP) and 3.

Hell, I hope we lose it next Sunday. A perfect Father's Day present.

But I can see three teams all being hit by a mystery virus that was brought in from Japan!

it will be funny if Richmond win and Melbourne and Carlton draw. the #1 draft pick will be decided on percentage.

Just as important there will be no PPs in the 1st or 2nd round.

I was of the understand that if Richmond win they still get a PP because they would have won less than 5 games still? :S

I think the rule is that you need to have less than 16.5 points in the H & A season for PP entitlement. That's 4 wins or less.

guys please don't sink down to this level, why would you seriously wanna lose a game on purpose . So what, a better draft pick, no team has won with a priority pick. Whatever happens, happens we should just take what we get. If we get an extra pick so be it. BUT C'MON GUYS SUPPORT YOU TEAM.

Read the Match of the Century Thread - Post 70.

And next year dont complain about team and list deficiencies if we win on Sunday.

The sentiments shown about losing are exactly those supporting the team.

It's interesting alright, but i would be disgusted if we finished bottom this year. I'm less unhappy about losing to Carlton stright up, but i still want us to play properly. Maybe i'm in the minority here, but i'd take the short term happiness of winning over the long term gain of the PP.

I hate the idea of tanking, and i can't believe any club would deliberately do it. Unfortunately i think Carlton are doing a great job of being a competitive tank engine, so i want to absolutely smash them into oblivion so that we make sure the humiliation of deliberately losing is etched in their minds.

If we lose, we lose. But ultimately, we really don't deserve it.

Yep, the 3 teams will definately suffer some mysterious illness.

My money is on the Equine Influenza to spread from the stables to the Junction Oval.

 You stole my line DD.

With Richmond's win over the Bummers yesterday, the race for the spoon is on. We're even with Carlton on points, Richmond are 2 points behind. They play a beatable St. Kilda outfit next weekend, we obviously play the boos.

These are the possible outcomes:

Richmond d St. Kilda

Melbourne d Carlton

Final ladder:

Melbourne

Richmond

Carlton

This is the least favourable outcome because it means we lose our second round PP, and Carlton get pick 1 and 2. They win a hattrick of spoons, that has to be a first for a while.

Richmond d St. Kilda

Carlton d Melbourne

Final ladder:

Carlton

Richmond

Melbourne

In this scenario we get the #1 pick as well as a PP. I can't really stomach another spoon though.

If Richmond lose, they get the spoon.

My favourite outcome is this though:

Richmond d St. Kilda

Melbourne draw Carlton

Final ladder:

Richmond

Melbourne

Carlton

We'd lose our PP, sure. However, Carlton would lose their PP _and_ win the wooden spoon. I'd be in heaven. :D

I'll take Kruezer.

Go Tiges and Blues. It's that simple!

I can't handle an off season of being the wooden spooners.

Spank the tankers, I say!

Ps - Cameron will probably screw up any potential priority picks, knowing our rotten luck.

You'd get over it bbp.

Yeah i thought about this this morning, with Richmond winning it does throw a spanner into the works

I don't like tanking, and losing for the sake of it, but i definitely don't want the team to win this Sunday for a better future

If winning the spoon means that in '08 we make the pre-lim and 2010 we make the granny (ala 10 years ago), i'd be able to live with it. However, i don't think we will be anywhere remotely near top 4 material next year, or for a few years.

A certain 200cm prospect for number 1 would fit right in at the MFC.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
