I know alot of people don't like byron pickett because he is a big boy. But come on the guy is a serious talent!!

Has everyone at Melbourne forgot how amazing this guy was last year? and how much we all loved him. He stuffed up earlier yes but he was never given a chance this year!!! He has played about 3-5 games. This BYRON PICKETT, a norm smith medallist. The way we are playing im sure he deserves a game. Furhter his is on 199 games, if he doesnt get to 200, I as a Melbourne supporter will be embarrased. Give this incredible talent a go, not just one game, his confidence is down, he needs to string a few together so he can be the force he is.

To not bring him back against his old club Port was stupid. He would have dominated that game, his 200th in hostile territory vs his old side. Stupid selection panel.

He will get his chance, and he will play his 200th.

I don't have a problem with the club sending a message to the players that his actions were completely unacceptable.

He has no one to blame but himself.

Posted

He was a talent (past tense)

He cheated the players, the Club and the supporters with his unprofessional and lacksadaisical commitment to MFC.

He has done nothing to justify selection since his suspension.

He does not deserve to play his 200th.

I rather give to an honest charity and the Club should save money on the crepe paper for the run through.

He is finished.

Byrone has no one but himself to blame for his present predicament. He also has the ability to solve it. Its down to him. I would hardly call the amazing patience this club has shown him as being "unfair ".

Ok typical bandwagon words there. You don't know that he WAS a talent. He hasnt played.

He dominated for Sandy last week. You have no proof to say he cant still play other than the fact he is an idiot personallity wise and stuffed up...... alot. He is still very talented. We haven't seen him this year based on off-field discretions. Not talent.

I kept it simple for a reason.

He has not played for reasons of his own doing.

Did you go watch the Sandy game? He played one strong quarter and huffs and puffs like Garfield the cat and cant run out a full game.

He had a big big chance to deliver for us this year particularly with our long line of injuries and failed us miserably.

The Club has been very lenient with him given what he has delivered.

Yes I was at the Sandy game and I just think we are all being to quick to judge him.

Yeah I disagreed with you after the boxhill game because I didn't see him huffing and puffing, but with about 5 minutes left he was on the mark, hands on knees absolutely stuffed, no where near fit enough for AFL...

Byron, was certianly putting in hard in last qtr last saturday against Bendigo Bummers! So dont think running game out is now an issue. Ought to have got his 200 already cos ot the 6 weeks suspension he got (which no one else has copped anything near since!).

As MFC season is shot would be a good thing for MFC to get him one more game & should make it a game other than Neita's 300th.

If you apply the logic in this post of lack of fitness and huffing and puffing as reaosns not to get a game, Neita should have to play 302 games before his 300th is recognised as he didnt justify his last 2 games based on lack of fitness & return. Dont think he would have been selected for Roos game if MFC wasnt trying to get him his 300th before end of this season.

Cam Bruce also should not have played against the Power last Sunday as clearly underdone!

As MFC supporters have very little positive to look forward to and the players have little to play for for rest of the year a 200th gamer and 300th gamer over the next 4 games would be worthwhile. (not that there was much evidence of any affort to celebrate Robbo's 200th)

it seems all demons aboriginal players had bad year

pickett-form,trouble

davey-form

whelan-injuries

weetra-injuries

hayes-trouble

Why is it an aboriginal thing?

I would have said all MFC players have had a bad year

I wont write pickett off yet. There is still talent left there! Its up to Himself and MFC to find it and display it where it counts.

Good to see some people on this post making sense instead of jumping on a Melbourne footy player

How about Pickett's unfair treatment of the MFC?

The club who saved his career, paid him good money, and did everything in their power to make him an important part of the team?

His poor form, lack of fitness and discipline issues are a slap to the face for those who had faith in him and paid good money, and gave away a good draft pick in order to see him in a Melbourne jumper.

As it stands, he owes us a lot more than we owe him.

Nothing would please me more than to have a fit, firing and mentally focused Byron Pickett on our list next year, as he is without a doubt, a very talented, match-winning player. However, given his behaviour and performance over the last two years, I just cannot see it happening.

He has a lot of making-up to do.

Well said Jaded.

In the rose coloured world of some we should be celebrating his sub standard performance.

As the person who started this topic. A very pro-pickett person. I must say very well said and I agree with alot of what you have displayed.

He really wasnt that good last year, yes he was ok but not good. however he does deserve a recall to get to his 200th.

he was very good last year, one of our most esciting players, but deserves nothing from Melbourne F C.

You deserve nothing from the english language. It is spelt exciting.

On field leader last year in a team bereft of leaders, was very good. This year has let the club down badly

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
