And clever - she's leveraged her position of strength very cannily.

My day looks very different tommorow, and will involve full clean of her car, gardening and my most dreaded of chores - cleaning the #$%$#$% windows inside and out (for weeks afterwards sunlight mocks me highlighted all the smudges I've somehow missed).

By the by, in the as live Masters Jason Day made birdie at 9 to go 5 under and equal second.

Am I only one who hates Gather Round? Means instead of going to the MCG to watch the Mighty Demons pound Essendon live I have to be stuck at home watching on my ancient Samsung telling my children to shut up…..anyhow I hope we give them the smacking they richly continue to deserve

Bombers or your children?

Stuff Up

These are the game that always worried me the most. Just hope we finally have taken in a few of those learning over the years. Still remember the Essendon walk to the Gee game when they did not have a team to field and what happened, and of course the two Gather round game against this mob. Just win it Dees.

So the negative side of me & the 2025 & beforehand member thinks this is a game we could drop & it wouldn't surprise me, also it will make me mad if we do drop it. My thoughts are caddy will kick 6, merrett will have a day out & parish will suddenly play his best.

The 2026 member sees me as this is a new season, new freshness & I'm confident we'll do this. Our players have more belief & it's a new system.

Don't disappont me

I'm nervous.

Strange isnt it. If I was there I would just be excited and probably freezing.

Yep same here. Extremely nervous.

Going to be funny when they ( TWSNBN) try to plaster all these comments over their incentive board to rev themselves up.

So much going for us to play well today....

Essendon hatred index - out of 10

Definitely a 9/10. (Collingwood is 10/10)

Remember the 2000 Grand Final. They mocked us. Laughed. Then remember 2013. A 148 point massacre.

I’m not feeling for that [censored] Brad Scott. Arrogant piece of 💩

Must win. Must win today. No complacency. We must win. Win for Melksham 250 ❤️💙

Anyone in Radelaide with a weather update ploise?

Reckon it’s gonna rain much?

Thankfully I'll be out for lunch today so I won't think about it. But when I check the score hopefully it will be good news.

If we win today, hopefully next Sunday we roll into Brisbane at the G with self belief, confidence & a goodcrowd

Are you serious?? You hate them more than the filth??

Half my family are Melbourne supporters, the other half Essendon.
This is Lifelong Grudge Round.
I want them to watch us run all over them.
Just totally demoralise 'em.
Let them rot at the bottom end of the ladder for another 20yrs.
That's what I want.

Will be an easy win

But don’t go easy on them like the dogs did last week

We need a 3 digit win to boost %

More nervous about this game than the Gold Coast - PTSD from stuffing up games we were expected to win in the past. Hopefully we can maintain the rage.

This is the type of game we have often lost in the past. Let's hope the players are switched on and not drinking the bath water otherwise, as Hardwick says, we will get a kick in the nuts

yes we traditionally have filled up on bathwater and drop games like this .

Some good ins from the bombers and "nothing" to loose in a way as expectation is so low on them. Officially MFCSS is kicking in.

the conditions will even things up

i still reckon we'll win though

Dees by 15-20

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.

  • PODCAST: Gold Coast

I’ll be away for the next few weeks, so Binman will be holding the fort for our podcasts covering the Suns, Bombers and Lions matches. As a result, there will be no live podcasts during this period, and we won’t be taking calls or voicemails. Binman will still be dipping into this thread to select a few questions to answer, while also combining the long-form Stats Files podcast with the Demonland Podcast for these shows. Your questions and comments are a huge part of what makes the podcast work, so please post anything you’d like to ask or say below and we’ll do our best to give you a shout-out on the show. Please try to keep each post focused on one specific topic or player to make podcast preparation a little easier. If you have multiple topics you’d like to raise, please put them in separate posts.
