a journalist friend of mine said 'you paid high for one to get the other for cheap'

getting em for 2x 2nd round picks was outstanding recruiting

Well i got that totally wrong on Melksham. Surprised, but in King I trust. He'll probably kick a bag.

It's terrific that Turner is ready to come back in after just the one game.

Just two changes is another big positive.

Turner and McDonald together is interesting we have a tall backline if they all play there or is there a chance Disco might go forward?

Of the emergencies, Laurie is the only possible replacement for Fritsch. We couldn't possibly go taller

And Trent Rivers hasn’t been named in either side so he must be carrying a worse injury than mentioned “ grumbling knee”. 😳👍

Disco might go forward if there’s a very late out.

Whats the basis of the speculation around fritsch?

Hope we put in a stronger showing than we did against the dockers. Not the worst time to play the suns tbh

Kentfield in if Fritter goes out?

Or maybe Laurie, with Melk covering Friiters role?

Turner and Melksham made the cut.

Melksham a logical replacement for Cross given the low amount of minutes Cross played last week.

And Cross jumped at a surprising number of packs to contest marks and bring it to ground. That's Melk's go too

Laurie, given we're playing all of McDonald, Lever, Petty, Disco - Disco can go fwd

Thankyou

Am I living in a bygone era or are there fines for taking a player out of the team that you list on the ground? Was that ever a thing?

Hmmm.

If ever there was a week to play the 4 tall defenders it would be this week.

King, Read and to a lesser extent Walter are very tall forwards with high upside. It will definitely allow Petty to be the back up ruck this week and allow JVR to focus as a full time forward. Just like the round 1 win.

And it also gives us flexibility to throw Turner or Petty forward mid game if needed.

I thought everyone would be happy to see that some things can be kept under wraps. Remember when specifics of a player’s injury were “leaked” to the media and the big question was who’s the mole?

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.
