That surprises me I have to say

He’s probably a safer option than Kolt to play half back, but the question is what do we do with Kolt?

Maybe he plays the Paddy Cross role.

There coming to our house.... let's make them welcome (NOT)

I see an eclipse on the horizon

I saw that. It would have been handy to know how it was measured- I mean what's 100? What's 200?

Yes they didn’t explain that …but I guess we’re extremely fast. Hoyne also acknowledged we’ll make mistakes with this game style & accept it. This will drive some D’land posters insane ..,

B: Lever, McDonald, Salem

F: Fritsch, Mihocek, Kentfield

FOLL: Gawn, Steele, K.Pickett

IC: Lindsay, Langdon, L.Pickett, Sharp, Rivers

EMERG: Petty, Heath, Moniz-Wakefield

I'd be inclined to leave out Salem and bring in AMW. But otherwise, I like the look of your squad 👍

Mitch Cleary just said on Agenda Setters that Riv will be back in the team this week.

No he didn’t.

He said he SHOULD be back in for the Demons this week and it was a throwaway line that he said after mentioning that just two weeks after Riv played State of Origin for WA, he was dropped by the Dees while dealing with a knee issue.

Hardly definitive.

in what sense?

In the sense that whilst King has suggested Riv is carrying some niggles, I suspect there's some aspect of his game King wants him to work on.

And to do so likely requires some time at Casey.

And if he does have some niggles, is one week not playing at senior level going to do much to help him get over them?

Speaking of the media…How about that Carlton hey. Dominating all shows because they lost on the weekend. Anybody know who they played?

I actually quite like seeing them get hauled over the coals

We would be talked about too if our second halves % was 34 😆

I don’t mind that we barely get a mention. We’ll quietly go on with our business without the added pressure while all eyes are on Carlton and Essendon.

We should be talked about then for our first quarter % being 24.7

We've got plenty of mentions in the media

Posters here just have a chip on their shoulder when it comes to the media coverage we get

I guess all that matters is who is in front at the final siren )

Hearing that a big name is out this week (and for about 5 more). I won't reveal as it will come out today and no need to give the oppo a heads up. Brace yourselves.

Oh, you can’t leave us all hanging like that! 😩

Who do you think might come in to replace said mystery player?

We know already Andy, Paddy Cross.

And again the ridiculous vfl competition comes to light again, no game last week for Casey they had a bye so players returning from injury / form have to sit on there hands.

We need to develop our own secret language - maybe call it Demonlandish - for occasions such as this.

For mine Riv needs to work on hitting targets by hand and foot, and his tackling. All at a premium as the game speeds up.

Clear from press conference King sees him as a defender not a midfielder.

Please don’t be Max. I’m really hoping he can stand alone as the only person to get NINE AA.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

Melbourne’s slow starts have been a troubling theme for a while. Against the Suns, they started slowly in both of their games, they trailed by 5.7.37 to 0.1.1 at quarter time at Peoples First Stadium in Round 16. This season, the story has remained the same and if the Demons fail to shake off this issue against the unbeaten Gold Coast Suns, they will be in serious danger of capitulating once again in their Easter Sunday showdown.

  • REPORT: Carlton

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
