6 - Steele. You stood up when everyone else was down. You have the heart of a lion.

5 - K.Pickett. You are the game breaker.

  1. Gawn. What else could we expect.

  1. Lever. Should never be written off. A real warrior. Reliable.

    1. Fritsch. As clinical as can be.

      1. Windsor. Kept us moving in the right direction. Forward at all costs.

HO - Sparrow for a brilliant second half. Howes executed his role well.

6 Kozzzzy -the match winner, he’s electric when given space to run

5 Gawn -the warrior - pushed the ball to our advantage - 55 hitouts and scragged without rewards all afternoon

4 Sparrow -one of his very best games- fitted into inside mid role and finally had one touch footy- one who brought us back into the contest

3 Lever - renewed faith after a poor round 1- he showed more energy and contest at the footy - repelling attacks all day - used the footy really well

2 Fritsch- 4 crucial goals - missed two others that would have seen up further up the votes- love his eye for goal -4th quarter swinging goal was magic

1 Steele - battle hardened leader in the midfield- 16 tackles- so lucky to have him in red & blue

Apologies to

Windsor - ran and ran and ran / disposals again let him down but hero’s going and creating

Langford - crucial goals and getting more feel for the midfield

Chin - again crucial goals and forward pressure kept the ball in the score zone

It's always nice when there are so many who could have gotten votes!

6 - Kozzie!!!!

5 - Maxxy

4 - Spaz (best he's played - now it's all about maintaining that - THIS is what he's capable, and what we need).

3 - Fritter (the comments about him being soft - seriously, not every guy out there needs to be a hard nut. The guy is pure silk and he reads flight of the ball/gets into better positions than just about anyone. I'd trust the ball in his hands for a shot on goal any day of the week). He keeps topping our goalscoring for a reason, and with better delivery this year he will have a bumper year! For some evidence see: so far this year (3 games) - 7 goals. In 2025, after 3 games he had kicked 1. And his goals today were crucial, and the difference between a loss and a win. For me, his job is to lead into good spaces, take marks (if necessary) and kick goals. If he doesn't run as hard as some of the others, yeah fine whatever, I will look at that stat if he doesn't kick/contribute to enough goals. That's me anyway. I don't need him to be clocking 15 tackles a week - that's Steele this week, and I respect that from him because that's who he is.

2 - Steele - On Steele, wowee what a start he's had. So happy we got him. Pure heart and soul player. Tries his guts out, solid disposals, has brains when using the footy.

1 - Lever - Really came into his own as the game went on. Hopefully this is an upwards trajectory thing because we sorely need him out back as we're a bit light.

Hon mentions: Kolt (loving his development/confidence building), Chandler, T Mac, Langford, Windsor

  • REPORT: Carlton

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
