It’s Game Day and the Demons are back at the MCG for a big occasion, celebrating the 250-game milestones of Premiership pair Max Gawn and Tom McDonald, while rookie Paddy Cross gets his first taste of AFL football against the Blues. What are you hoping to see from the Dees today?

Can't see us winning this, Carlton may not be finals-bound, but they still have too many weapons, especially around the ball.

Hopefully we can at least be a bit more competitive over 4 quarters than we were last week, and if so, you never know. Would of course be great to get it done for Max and Tom, but footy doesn't always work that way.

Our clocks go forward an hour overnight the first ball up will be 6.15 rather than 5.15. I will be watching and giving advice to the team and coaches from the other side of the world.

Game should be over prior to brekkie so I can celebrate with cup or two of coffee.

I think we will win by a margin of 20 points. It is a big game for the team with a couple of huge milestones. A big, big thank you to Max and Tom, you have both been great for the club.

If you haven't seen them, the club released some videos of Max and Tom going through their careers, great watches and has me pumped for the game.

I do hope you are right and the Demons win. They have to beat sides like Carlton. A defeat would not be good for the rest of the season. Congratulation to Max and Tom. I hope the team puts in a performance worthy of their Stella careers.

Absolutely spewing I'm missing today due to a pre planned family birthday.

Gutted I'm not there for Max's 250th mainly but now will miss tom's.

Just hope for a win & a fantastic start.

Of all the days... I have a function on and will not see a single kick!! All glory, laud and honour to Max and TMac.

This is a very 50/50 game for mine.

Cripps is likely to rip us apart, we do not have anyone who can play on him and compete size-wise (Culley maybe?). Kolt or Sparrow probably go to Sam Walsh who is finding form. If we get badly beaten in the midfield, we lose.

They only have plan A which is contest and pressure. IF we can get the ball to the outside, and use it well, they cannot go with our outside speed.

Probably no surprise but I’m hella confident we’ll win today, and win convincingly.

Carlton is experiencing a collective mindset of loserism (yes I made that word up). Remember… 10% physical and 90% mental. It’s above the neck where the power lies.

I want to see a ‘W’ in the right column, and I think I will! Our run and dare will be too much for their stodgy game style, and we’ll run them off their legs in the last quarter, if not before!

………. and if the four points is ever in doubt, we’ll get over the line for our two 250 game stalwarts.

Sorry to hijack this thread with membership stuff. I got an MCC/MFC Premium membership and for the first time in a while, my daughter wants to go to the footy. As part of this membership I believe you get three free MCC guest passes as well as a full child's membership.

I'm wondering what the best and easiest way for us to get into the ground is today.

I think I've made a mistake in not contacting the club to set up my daughter's membership (I assumed it was automatic, but now realise I can't find details of her membership anywhere). I imagine I can go and talk to Membership at the ground before the day, but will that get me anything that will allow my daughter entry into the ground today?

I was thinking just spending one of the MCC free guest passes might be the way to go but because today is a Category 2 game, does that make it difficult or impossible?

This was all a bit easier when she was under 6. Now it's more complicated than I realised.

Any help would be much appreciated.

They make a good point.

Incidentally, this ends a streak of 81 consecutive games played by Riv, going back to round 17 2022.

I know there’s no room for sentimentality in footy but he’d be gutted not playing in his two premiership teammates’ huge milestone game.

I also know the tough calls have to be made but this is gonna take quite some getting used to.

They should be able to help you out with this. They will likely give you a paper ticket to scan your daughter in. Because it’s our away game, membership queries can be made at the little portable situated between gates 3 & 4.

@Longsufferingnomore would know more about this than I do but I’m sure the staff in the portable will sort it for you.

Your daughter wants to go to the footy for the first time in a while? Well this MUST happen! We need those little Dees onboard… they’re our future.
