Has there been a good game this season?

I am really struggling to watch a full game at the moment.

Yeah.

Clarry has had a good first half

He sure has - so much for the theory that the game has gone past him. He is feeding lightning-fast handpasses out to players in the open, which has always been his strength and which will always be very advantageous.

I'm still bleeding about letting him go....

Yeah having an EXCELLENT GAME, u taking notice King??? Nar get the blinkers off!

Frees 9-3 Pies way of course.

I have seen multiple frees to Giants ignored and doubtful ones paid to Pies.

Last night Cats 25-13 frees against Crows.

Sick of these big clubs getting everything.

Really struggling to pick a weiner for tonight’s game

my heart says giants but Pies at home will probably get over the line either way the umps help

Oh I can see many weiners out there

Clarry had a good first half and Hogan an absolute stinker.

Giants with the 3 free kicks in 60 minutes of footy so far

Three goals in a quarter while both teams run around frantically is a weird viewing experience.

The unpaid frees for the Giants, including a couple of non holding-the-ball decisions right in front of goal, have really farted in this game's bathtub.

I wonder if that will be auto-censored and I would be fascinated to know what people's guesses will be.

2026 NAPLAN TEST: Complete the sentence; "The umpire has [censored] in the bathtub."

It’s like watching us the last few years

plenty of ball

wide kicks

no fwd presence

umps not helping but inaccuracy a bigger reason why giants losing this game

Gee De Geoy was soft in that contest

Get him on the dance floor and he would forcibly grab something

Hogan Stringer Brown Greene Ricardi

5 goals in 90 minutes

wtf

The rules being constantly changed for the worse has killed the game. For decades I watched 3-4 matches a weekend as a neutral. This year I’ve not made it through a single match that wasn’t a Melbourne match.

As a spectator sport, it’s dead. It completely lacks any sense of tension or strategy. The [censored] at the AFL alter the rules to manipulate how a team plays and remove options and strategies in the process. It’s become aerial ping pong with an abundance of scoring, and the inconsistent umpiring calls for already [censored] rules have made it unwatchable.

I don’t want to see mountains of goals kicked. The more goals there are, the less they mean and the less I care. I want to see teams fight for them or use smart strategy and skill to earn them. I don’t want to see free kicks awarded because an opposition player didn’t stand on the spot like a dog learning to toilet train when some fool yells STAND. It’s truly pathetic what the game has become.

The most gripping moments in footy to me were grand finals like Syd vs West Coast - low scoring, hard at it, and full of tension and drama. AFL matches now lack all of that.

Rant over. Hello darkness my old friend.

Lord Travis sums up my view of the stand rule

“..I don’t want to see free kicks awarded because an opposition player didn’t stand on the spot like a dog learning to toilet train when some fool yells STAND. It’s truly pathetic what the game has become.”

Clarry wishing he was back at Dees having a SENSATIONAL gsme but CAAAARYYST GWS ARE SHEEEITFUL

Under 15s blunders in the last line by the Giants there twice in 2 minutes! But it’s caused by a total lack of movement of players to provide targets upfield.

Can anyone explain how Kingsley, in his 4th season as coach with the list he has - never seems under pressure?
