Just a massive shame we didn’t trade him to the Cats at the end of 2024 when they were going to give us a future and pay a million of his wage 🤦‍♂️

In hindsight that was a shame.

Also in hindsight you could argue we could have traded Petty to the Crows for 2 top picks and picked a couple of very good young players.

There are probably a lot of list decisions in hindsight that could be classified as a shame.

Gee the dogs move the ball well.

Gws may get another Kingsley spray at half time

I’ve been watching No Holds Barred, the 8-part series on GWS’s 2025 campaign. I’m on the fifth episode and thus far have seen some Kingsley sprays of various intensity but I imagine they’ll be nothing compared to what they would’ve copped today.

I hadn't realised that the upgrade to Mars was part of the Commonwealth games promise. (The Games were supposed to start next week)

Apparently many of the regional upgrades continued.

"Mars Stadium, which hosts the Western Bulldogs, will get another 5000 seats and extra change rooms by the end of this year, while the regional athletics centre will have new tracks."

Cats and GWS showing the middle of the ladder is wide open.

Each year in February I try to do a predictive ladder. This year it was so hard to actually slot the teams from position 5 to 14. Port, GWS, Dogs and Hawks could do nothing or anything, and I it was really tough to place the Dees. I actually ended up with a Lions v Freo grandfinal but not with any confidence. Freo looking very very good this arvo.

Dangerfield looks like a fridge

Guess he does own a few good paddocks

That one’s a myth. The offer was Mcadam and pick 14 for Petty. That pick 14 would’ve blown out and if you take a look at the 2023 draft it’s VERY weak at that point

Luke Jackson is a genuine freak

He has bulked up now too

20% of the Freo side are ex Dees, Lj, Judd, Oscar and Warner.

Judd thinks he’s Windsor…

… he’s not.

Couldn't recall Warner but I found the young journeyman Corey Wagner.

Great to see that he and Oscar McDonald have got another chance. Good luck to them.

It does and I think the gap between the top 4-6 clubs and the rest of the comp is quite worrying for the AFL. It’s going to turn into an English premiership style comp

Good swap for us if Kozzie decides he has to leave (really hope that never happens)

Not a fan of the lasso rule

Second time now I've seen a player stop the opposite from the getting the ball or shepparding the ball out so they get the free kick

I thought we were trying to encourage keeping the ball in play?

Congratulations to the AFL on finally developing the product into something that is just non-stop end to end scoring.

Fantastic for the advertisers.

I thought I'd like this style more than I do.

As others have said, it's a lot like basketball in some ways.

Geez I hope Freo don't blow this

Good on the dogs, early days but they se yo re invent themselves, & trade in good talent, Bevetridge survives…

Nah they just want less stoppages. Lasso rule is great. No ambiguity. Hug the boundary line at your own risk.

Sen commentators stating players like Camerona and Dangerfield started firing to get them back into the game.

Checks stats

Dangerfield: 0 kicks 1 handball 1 mark 0 tackles

oscar mcdonald playing with Freo. totally forgot about that

Closing in on 100 AFL games (today is his 95th).

Love players that get the best out of themselves. Love Omac

It's entirely possible that the media narrative will change around Clarry and the Dees by seasons end. "Melbourne's shrewd trading is to be complemented in unloading 50 percent of their financial commitment after GW$ gave Oliver his marching orders earlier today."
