NON-MFC: Round 01

The antithesis of 'jogo bonito' ... that was ugly, especially the second half. But getting a win was important for CFC. A bye next week means the Blues are undefeated for a fortnight. Watch out AFL, thst sounds like the start of a run 😁

Looked like two bottom four sides. Hope we are a cut above them

Yep, although I'm not sure we'll want to measure ourselves against those 2 teams. 6-8 wins max for the Blues and maybe 4 or 5 wins for the Tiges

Above that is the 9-12 win bracket which would be an excellent result for a team on the semi-rebuild (like we are)

In other words, we still need to have reasonable expectations otherwise losing starts becoming a habit. A lot rests with our experienced players

Interesting game tonight. Very evenly matched teams, but Richmond just seem a tiny bit more rusty. Almost as if Carlton had played an extra match to shake the cobwebs off. 🤔

I wonder if any of the "bye" teams from last week will win (except North vs PA).

I went to the game tonight and rather came away feeling buoyed that Carlton ran out of puff. Hopefully we can run St Kilda off their feet.

A woeful game, going to be a long last season for Voss... they are lucky that the tigers are a young side and Lynch couldn't kick.

If we're measuring against that we'd want to get a bloody good tape measure.

F1 Sprint Qualifying from Shanghai China tonight at 6:30pm. Goes for 45 minutes.

Mercedes or Ferrari for pole.

Can OP beat Norris?

I was worried Richmond would look super rusty and under prepared against Carlton who had the supposed advantage from playing the week before.

Aside from a poor start, Richmond were the better team for 3 quarters and you honestly couldn't perceive any advantage. If anything Richmond looked fresher and more rested?

Or maybe Carlton are genuinely woeful??

Hopefully the Saints playing the week before won't be the advantage a lot of us may think it could be for Sunday's game.

Tom Lynch is worth a spot on the Olympic diving team

Or the Curling team.

Yes, why aren’t the AFL aware enough to have all of the Round 0 teams play each other in Round 1, to give the rest a chance to catch up? Seriously brain-dead at AFL headquarters!

Carlton were very ordinary. 1 goal in a half should not see you win a game and 9 out of 10 times they would have been overrun like normal.

They are 0-2 for all I care. Just hope we can knock them off.

Round 0 !

The stupidity of Round 0 is mind blowing. I cannot comprehend the motivation behind continuing this.

What does it add to the season?

Who benefits?

If it's the vibe, maybe next year we add Round 00! And the year after Round 000. It is so moronic it could only come from the AFL

Voss wont be coach for much longer if the Blues keep up performances like that, win or not

Ha ha, it’s like casino’s now adding extra 0’s to roulette tales to extract more money out of gamblers. It’s all about squeezing in an extra round and getting more people to watch games they may normally not have watched hence more money for the AFL and broadcasters.

Wouldn't that negate the leg-up they're giving to the favoured teams? 🤣

So true. Arguably the top 8 “darling” teams got the gig in Round 0. All the northern expansion teams and the VIC powerhouses.

i thoroughly dislike Hawthorn but it would be great fun if they belted essendon by 100+ tonight just to enjoy the wrist slitting on bomberblitz

Gotta give Carlton fans credit. They are at least smart enough to not celebrate that “win”, but cant say the same for Voss and the players. How could you double fist pump and give high fives like you have just won the Prelim after beating the second worst side in the comp on paper, and only “winning” because Lynch couldn't convert Richmond’s dominance. What a joke of a club..

We should pump this club in 2 weeks time and end this disgusting 3 match losing streak we have against them.

If we dominate and get the opportunities Richmond got, Mihochek, Fritsch, Pickett and even a Chandler should cash in handsomely.
