Cheap shot. If a mainstream journalist reports something like this I believe it's important for the Club to clarify the matter, whether it is true or not. Our comms team have definitely lifted their game this year but they still need to be more agile on matters like this, which is important football information for supporters - particularly at this time of the year when the Club is, or should be, building our membership numbers.

Yeah, nah. If GW wants to have a crack at me for merely reacting to a journalist giving the story then I'm happy to return serve.

Club released a statement, surgery was a success.

I’m just curious, if someone puts their hand into a toaster that’s on, do you then blame the toaster in this scenario? 😂

I do, regularly.

Did Judd McVee tell you this?

If you’d bothered reading the thread, you’d be well aware that this was directly from the Fritsch family.

  1. Missing a whole season with a knee injury is not comparable to a minor hand injury that may not even cause Fritta to miss any games.

  2. Trac did his knee at training.

It was his toe he broke playing

Well hopefully he doesn't miss

You're right. He broke his toe which put him out for awhile playing basketball while coming back from a knee. Roos wasn't amused

It came from a demonland poster actually.

Bad luck that he got an infection even...when I was a kid I teased my family dogs all the time (ok I was a little [censored]) got my share of bites that broke the skin and never needed any treatment once!

I can't believe nobody has pointed out that if the biting had involved dogs and a Collingwood player, the medicos would have given the dogs rabies shots to protect them from being infected by the player's bite.

rabies shots?

Nah the players would be fine, they generally get a rabies booster annually. Just prior to Queens Birthday, for whatever reason.

I get it. I’m clumsy so I’m regularly throwing out the coffee tables I stub my toes on. Hard rubbish at my house is a god damn bonanza.

I'm inclined to give the dog a clearance.

Yeah but they are already in the Kennel!!

Gotta be careful with those dogfights my brother in law did similar in a park once looked down and the top of his finger was missing!

And the Dog LUUUUUURVED HIS SCOOBY SNACK!

An update .... anyone?

In particular Jai, Checker, and AMW.

Doesn't appear to be any word from the club.

An intra-club this weekend? Apology if mentioned elsewhere.

official injury list comes out the tuesday before the game plays

i would expect our official update in a week, although clubs may be forced to release one today as other clubs will be doing so too

Does Kane have a point here?

Greg Swan says he couldn’t answer the question.

I am sure after getting advice from SportsBet and their fellow parasites he will find an answer.

Thanks - did the boys train today?

They did. They had a full session out at Casey Fields. They’ll be training at Casey Fields again on Thursday.

Thanks Hardtack but as you can see by the poster’s reply (below) it’s akin to trying to reason with a toddler.

Hey @Ghostwriter was there another visit from the doctor after the clean out and antibiotics?

Yeah the following day and then again this morning.

9 hours ago, Ghostwriter said:

Not even stitches were needed. Two small puncture marks on the back of his hand. He’s gonna be fine for round one.

Your inside knowledge is always appreciated Ghosty! Love your work

Have you not read anything I’ve said in this thread? If you wanna believe Sam Edmunds, go right ahead, but maybe don’t bore everyone with comments like the above which are unnecessary and repetitive.

Facts:

He called the club doctor immediately after it happened.

The club doctor attended to him, washed out the two tiny puncture (not much bigger than a pinhead) marks and gave him antibiotics.

There was NEVER an infection

He went back to the club doctor this morning to have it checked. He’s fine.

This morning I said to Fritta’s mum that this report implies Fritta is irresponsible in that he thought it was no biggie and let time go by ‘til an infection set in. She said she likes to think people who read it will know there’s always the possibility that it’s a bunch of bs. Seems she thought wrong.

Thankyou legend!

I know that…ghostwriter who you took the cheap shot at, is in contact with Fritch’s mum, and the message re just a clean up and a couple of stitches, came from her (Fritch’s mum)… considering the subject we were discussing I just didn’t think it was necessary to state that.

Yeah but outa kindness the Filth supporters always remove their Falsies before uttering more profanities coz they might lose them in the seething throng! Result no rabies infection!

That's fine. She can give whatever info she wants to. But she had a crack at me first for reacting to Sam Edmund's piece on SEN rather than taking her word as gospel, which I think is a bit rich from someone who doesn't have a perfect track record herself.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
