Such a good band 🤟🏼

Playing a free gig at fed square tgis friday with an up and coming local rock band Public Figures.

It will go off - and super, super packed - starts at 7:30 but I reckon they'll stop letting people in by 6pm such will be the interest (I saw ki g Gizzard lizard there are a few weeks ago and it was super packed - there'll be even more people for this gig)

Wouldn't miss it...

Enter Sandman has been the best one we've had imo.
This years one (whoever/what it was) was awful.

Hey Boy Hey Girl - The Chemical Brothers

Sure that is reserved for EssUndone

I think Girls on Film by Duran Duran, but only if they play the film clip on the big screen also

Actually this is perfect from 1:40 minute mark. (would have been better if Trac was still with us 😆)

Big Dumb Sex by the recently inducted Hall of famers Soundgarden. @Superunknown can I get an Amen?

I mean, you can only choose a Soundgarden song. I’ve got a very long list. It needs to be accessible to the masses, so I’d be going for Outshined for instant accessibility, though Blow Up conveys a sense of team. Mind you Rusty Cage or Fell on Black Days are quite apt. Gun might accord with King’s new game plan?

Given how poor we could be next year, this song seems appropriate.

Good call re Outshined. Or maybe Jesus Christ Pose. Kozzie could do the Jesus Christ pose after each goal he scores as a celebration.

Yep, will be nuts.

One of the things that is amazing about Amy Taylor as a performer is she creates such an awesome, encouraging space for women to fully enjoy themselves, be themselves, express themselves and go wild should they want to - something that in my experience is very rare in the ultra-alpha male space at hard rock gigs. She takes no [censored] and is a feminist icon that isn't afraid of her sexuality and power.

And she totally rocks.

100%

We need more Amys, and these gigs is one of the places where they're created.

My 18yo daughter just told me about this - should be a cracker.

To reinforce that point, the support band, Public Figures, are a relatively new hard rock young female duo who bring a similar energy as Amy Taylor.

There's only one worth considering if not Enter Sandman......

Hell ain't a bad place to be 😎.

And please play the whole song and only play Grand ol Flag when we win.

Or ‘If You Want Blood (You’ve Got It)

Side note; the MCG needs to refresh its pre-match playlist. If I hear that [censored] Feel It Still during season 2026 I’ll have a meltdown

Additionally with Kendrick Lamar touring next month I’ll be watching the players socials with interest. So many of them saw Drake when he last toured and I’m blaming that for our decline 😂

I think so. My hesitation is I reckon it will be full by 6pm smd I'm not sure if I can get there by then. Keen to see public figures, which are playing at Golden Plains.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
