These [censored] can't miss

Just now, whatwhat say what said:

Unfortunately this went exactly as predicted

Our draw flattered us

We are a 4-8 ranked side, not top 2

The unevenness of the comp didn’t do us any favours, doesn’t help prepare for tough games like this

Incredible strike rate.

9 goals 2.

If it were 7 goals 4.....

Lions hold in every contest and never a whistle.

It just comes down to finishing they can we can’t quite finish off our good work but they got those last two goals by hitting up loose targets.

Are we sure Bannan and Fritta aren’t related? 😂

I bet if Brisbane finished above us this game would have been played on their ground. Get stuffed AFL.

And if it was at Casey and we played like we are today, we still would have lost; other than our first quarter, we’ve played incredibly poor footy.

Kate Hore is just an incredible footballer.

Lions the better team. Midfield killed us and their accuracy.

Proud of the girls.

Geez I hope Goldy and Zanks and Chaps are back next week.

We have a much younger side overall and it showed a bit today. They will be much better for experiencing a hard finals game and with continued smart recruiting, especially with running mids, I’m very optimistic for our future. Put Chaplin, Purcell, Zanker and Goldie in today and may have been quite different.

better team won

no complaints

valiant effort but we are just not at their level particularly when we are down key personnel

still got crows or saints to look forward to next week. hopefully we can get some injured players back and win the game

go dees

Brisbane injury free, Demons missing 6-7 of best 23!

That’s your difference!

Fair bit of truth in this - we have some very good players and a few today that frankly are not going to deliver the MFC a premiership. Desperately need to get some best 22 soldiers back for the next game

Be interested to know who our strength and conditioning coach is. Brisbane look yards quicker and covered the ground so much better. We look like we were running in quicksand.

Bannan has lost yards of pace. Other players we recruited because of their athletic profile look anything but athletic.

In previous seasons we have had speed and could go the distance but were not as physically strong as your Crows, Lions and Roos. Have we focussed on bulking too much. To me we look unfit.

Those three free kicks in front of goal in the second were killers too, but yeah. Personnel.

I don't know how we're going to talk our way around Zanker getting a run next week.

Did I say I hate Davidson?

Doesn’t help when you lose your leading goal kicker early either. Injuries at the wrong time of year hurts as well.

Our shots and forward connection don’t help the cause

Could be a by product of a flawed competition when you don’t play all the teams once, how many top 8 teams did we beat??

Let’s hope we don’t have another straight sets exit to equal the men’s x 2

edit: understand you meant the the womens can go x2 as well

goal 1 - Taylor knocked it out of bounds under no pressure. obviously insufficient intent

That's true but the ball got to Taylor because Gillard was ridden in the back.

Sliding door moments, that was one.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Brisbane

Forget the haunting of Round 11 — we’ve got this. Melbourne returns to its inner-city fortress for its milestone 100th AFLW match, carrying a formidable 10–2 record at IKON Stadium. Brisbane’s record at the venue is more balanced: 4 wins, 4 losses and a draw.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Geelong

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
