That is the result of finishing 14th 2 years in a row.

And a boring as Bat sheet game plan.
We're in the entertainment business and need to play a brand people want to actually watch.
Until we prove we can ..... Sunday arvo it is.

Cats probably with the toughest draw

the rest of the top 4 twice. plus GC and Freo (and north)

Expecting a drop from them (but I've said this every year since 2014)

We play seven games against bottom six sides from last year........same as Carlton and Collingwood!!!

Collingwood always gets a good draw

Collingwood have the 2nd or 3rd toughest draw based on double ups.

They have the rest of the top 4 twice plus Hawks. Also the blues who could improve

I have us at 2 - 8 at Round 10, and wouldn't be entirely confident on either of those wins. This could be a season of pain coming, I reckon.

Ive just got a weird feeling we're going to be a surprise packet in 26.

Call me silly, call me mad , just not late for tea

St Kilda play their last 10 games in VIC and travel two less times than us.

I guess that's what happens when you don't resort to selling a game, and you're able to move one of your Marvel games to the MCG in front of 85,000 people.

It’s a terrific outcome for our members and supporters, and we can’t wait to see the red and blue faithful filling the stands once again for what promises to be an exciting 2026 AFL season.”

If Guerra is happy about this Sunday kings worst times .. 1 x Friday night game Anzac eve .. yeah club got looked after

Yea that wonderful Alice Springs game honestly

Has there ever been a Thursday night or Sunday night game played in Launceston? Thinking of biting the bullet and booking flights now.

The bottom 6 teams hey looks like this draw will give us a top 2 finish just like the women too bad we play too many Sunday games I hate Sunday games

It would definitely have to be a sat or sun. If you can turn it into a few days holiday. That's what I'm going to do

I didn't realise our only game against gws is in Alice.

Poor clarry probably thought he was safe at gws & would avoid going there

I actually wouldn’t have minded both Collingwood and GWS being our double up fixtures from the to 6 next season. I’m always one not to judge a fixture based on how a team performs the previous season, but I just believe those two will take a dip next season.

I think the Suns will continue to rise and Freo are heading in the right direction (although there’s a bit of a caveat on Longmuir holding them back IMO).

Can someone tell me where I can find the full fixture on one page( as in the Footy Record)?

Even the Dees’ fixture on one page would help.

Meanwhile Sam Edmund reporting that Carlton have 7 Thursday or Friday night games in the first 16 weeks.

So for some, poor performance equals a poor fixture. But clearly not for others. Hell, this is more than Collingwood are getting!

So we’ll see Voss get sacked in prime time?

2026 will be my 22nd consecutive year as a Redleg and my wife’s 5th. We will remain on auto renewal until we pass into a parallel universe where we have Hawthorn/Geelong/Brisbane type success.

I'm off auto-renew but that's because I've had a low level membership for all the time I've been in Seattle and now that I'll be living two hours out of Melbourne, I'll actually be able to see the odd match or two. Just working out what membership to buy....

Anyway, my take home from the fixture is that we only play the Cats once and it's at the G!

I see we have Collingwood on a Monday and then Essendon on the following Saturday.

Did anyone else have an instant flash back to 1993 when we beat Collingwood by 51 points on the Monday holiday and then Essendon by 34 points the following Saturday?

And Jakovich kicked a lazy 17 goals in that calendar week.

  • PODCAST: Gold Coast

I’ll be away for the next few weeks, so Binman will be holding the fort for our podcasts covering the Suns, Bombers and Lions matches. As a result, there will be no live podcasts during this period, and we won’t be taking calls or voicemails. Binman will still be dipping into this thread to select a few questions to answer, while also combining the long-form Stats Files podcast with the Demonland Podcast for these shows. Your questions and comments are a huge part of what makes the podcast work, so please post anything you’d like to ask or say below and we’ll do our best to give you a shout-out on the show. Please try to keep each post focused on one specific topic or player to make podcast preparation a little easier. If you have multiple topics you’d like to raise, please put them in separate posts.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

Melbourne’s slow starts have been a troubling theme for a while. Against the Suns, they started slowly in both of their games, they trailed by 5.7.37 to 0.1.1 at quarter time at Peoples First Stadium in Round 16. This season, the story has remained the same and if the Demons fail to shake off this issue against the unbeaten Gold Coast Suns, they will be in serious danger of capitulating once again in their Easter Sunday showdown.
