Fantastic we donโ€™t play at Geelong!

The double ups are tough but none of the best teams are part of them at least. No crows, lions, swans

Lots of day sat and sunday games!

I am in love with that night games are terrible for my ageing body.

Play Twice:

Essendon, Bulldogs, Gold Coast, Richmond, Hawthorn, Fremantle

We will be good enough to beat those sides, perhaps a split with the Hawks.

Hoping someone can explain thisโ€ฆ

Ie., why is he carrying a chicken?

My comrades in the DA have asked me (as our resident crazy chook lady) and I have no idea.

Forget about what happened the year before and who we are playing twice. Who is to say the Hawks are going to be better? The Dockers too? The 'who we play twice' toughness is a myth. What's more of a concern is the lack of prime time games.

Because they love giving away farms.

Ballsy move, Lego.

I like it!

3:15 Sunday is OK. Clearly 7 don't totally hate us.

We made trade week interesting, could have received a nicer double up fixture as a thank you!

ย

315 sunday with a 6pm finish and then basically a 3hr trip to get back to my door is fine for me, absolutely the pits for the little kids on a school night.

It's going to kill our average attendance. Personally, I and my family of 5 will be very unlikely to go to any of those simply because of how late the trip home will be with a school day the next day.

6 of the top 8 teams are non Vic.

The bias towards Vic teams is crazy

As much fun as seeing the Blues getting flogged is, it doesnโ€™t make for a good spectacle

How does a team going for 3 flags in a row not even make it on this list?

People complain about how many [censored] games there were this year and half of that was because Essendon played about 13/14 night games after doing NOTHING last year.

Iโ€™m sure there was a round this year, where Brisbane were playing another top 8 side on a Saturday afternoon, then Essendon were on the night game and surprise surprise they got flogged. Was later in the season too as we spoke about how weird that was on here.

The title of this thread should have been โ€˜ The 2026 Fix is inโ€™.

Really... huh... I think I might have been in Europe then.

Probably skiing Les Deux Alpes

No Geelong trip - win. Mostly Sunday arvo games which is a commercial disaster.

The double up games are a bit strange for a side that finished bottom 6. You would expect to play WC and North twice, but we only get Richmond and Essendon.

In any case, not much expectation next year so tbh does the fixture really that much?

OTHER VIEW: Are team's fans ever happy about their draw???

ME: Nahhhh

The draw is both a sponsor's nightmare and not that great from a winning chance viewpoint.

Hell our time in the lime light was short.

Hard to recall a team that was banished so quickly. You could argue for the Eagles but they are so popular that they somehow still thrive.

Very hard to see us breaking out of the bottom four next year

WTF is the AFL doing scheduling Carltank regularly at night again? Was a disaster this year to the extend 7 didn't what to broadcast them at one point.

North Melb have ZERO free to air matches in the first 15 rounds

Blues 4 thursdays and 1 friday night game in the first 7 rounds. this after a 9-14 season and losing their best player

Pathetic from the AFL

Why proclaim in a hissy fit because your son Clayton is leaving that you will leave this site but donโ€™t?

No. I actually would be interested in the rationale. What am I missing here?

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, weโ€™ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binmanโ€™s Stats Files. Not because it isnโ€™t important; quite the opposite. Itโ€™s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourneโ€™s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last yearโ€™s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although itโ€™s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sundayโ€™s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to foolโ€™s gold.

Never in doubt!!! In Steven Kingโ€™s first game at the helm of the Melbourne Football Club, the Dees outlasted Saints in a wild, momentum-swinging thriller at the MCG, running out 13-point winners.
