How do we become like them? If they had a draft their performances would have evened out. Their performances are amazing they make a grand final every 2 years. We train with them we must get something out of them. They never go down they replace stars with stars Slater for Papenhauzen, Ado-Carr for Coates, Cronk for Hughes, Smith for Grant and their big blokes are monsters. Surely we can get something out of them.

I’m fine with vanquishing every other Victorian club interstate to be the only Vic club in the AFL if that’s what you mean?

Let’s make sure they win before we get too excited

Are they still rorting the salary cap? Feels like they’re the Geelong of the Rugby League.

Also this Grand Final is BALListic.

But seriously it’s nuts.

They haven't fired a shot in the second half. Looks like a choke for the second year in a row so maybe we are more like them than you think.

Can you do a best 22 of players that have beaten the storm in grand finals?

Reece Walsh is a freak he was the difference. Mistakes cost matches. Bribane made 1 with Haas and we made 5 I'd be fuming if I was Belleamy at the fringe players they let us down. 1 mistake to Kamakamika, 1 mistake to Wishart, 1 mistake to Leiro (spelling is not to good) 2 mistakes to Warbrick.

At least they make it every 2nd year we've made it 3 times in 50 years.

Yeah but they’re poo poo heads and they lost

@WERRIDEE 1st half 22:23 sets …up 22 to 12.

You win if you do the little things right.

But 2nd Half Storm imploded under pressure - that’s the learning !!! Handling Pressure in NRL and AFL is a constant in the premiership

X Tui over the line … drop (try x) that probably would have won the game ??

X Papa going airball speccy drop ?? BB try

X Warbrick drop … mann tackle - turnover BB try

X Warbrick drop through legs - Turnover BB try

X Papa behind pass. Wishart drops it

X after 60sec setup, Papa runs it on 6th !!! no kick !! Turnover

X Six to go.  15 metres out !!! Push to Coates on the edge ! Why?? Turnover

X break 20 out … 45 seconds !!! Papa !!  Walsh tackle

X 11/18 completed sets

️Walsh ️deserved best on field. Surprised his shoulder charge in first half wasn’t 10 in the bin !!!

Coaching and culture.

They have a long standing habit of turning relative plodders from other clubs into very very good players.

To summarise, they choked.

Its a raffle. I thought Reece Walsh wouldve been sin binned for sure, but wasn't.

It is a tough watch. There is a lot of high level athletes wasting their time copping unnecessary head knocks

Reese Walsh who should certainly have been sin-binned for 10 minutes, played probably the greatest individual grand final performance of all time, and Storm couldn’t contain him.

He was the difference

It can be entertaining when you get a close high stakes game like that, but it's a once in a blue moon that occurs OMHO. Mind you I only ever watch it once in a blue moon for either an origin game of GF like that too.

Watched it a couple of times at the ground and that's even worse. I can see why their attendances are so poor.

Edited by Rodney (Balls) Grinter

Reece Walsh is the Nick Daicos of the NRL. No way he was getting sin binned, should have actually been unavailable for the grand final for head butting a few games ago. Nothing to see here.

This will sting the storm, they blew it. Credit to Brisbane.

Agree Rodney.

League is an excellent TV sport but that is the best form. There might be some special aspects to it but I think they're crazy when they call it the best sport in the world.

I have been to a few Storm games and also to a handful of Brisbane and Roosters games.

Melbourne puts on a good show and it helps that the team is always good. But it has a gimmicky feel to it, unsurprising as they are competiting in a highly competitive sport environment.

Roosters games are a bit like Demons games: soulless.

Brisbane games and their stadium are top notch. It's like a party atmosphere.

I was there last night and no, I don’t want to talk about it.

100% correct on Walsh. Too much publicity and narrative around him for a binning or suspension to happen.

I wonder if they get more money than us out of the Grill'd sponsorship. Certainly more guaranteed views in September.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

  • REPORT: Richmond

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
