Currently coaching in the SANFL Jarman wants a crack !!

http://www.heraldsun.news.com.au/footy/com...5E20322,00.html

Will this be the first of quite a few Coaches/ Assistants staking a position in the queue ? I hope so. The more the merrier and likely we are to get the right one ( whomever that is !! )

He would be well worth considering as an Assistant. Might even be able to teach Bruce (et al) some of the rudiments of disposal by foot. An assistant's job at AFL level would pay more and point to a better future than what he's doing. He certainly had some football nous as a player.

There's a bit of irony there.

I remember coming home from work one day in the early to mid 1980's to read about how Melbourne was interested in two up and coming young South Australian brothers. We drafted Darren Jarman but he never came to the club while Andrew Jarman insisted he wouldn't leave SA. Darren Jarman eventually played for Hawthorn and later joined Andrew at Adelaide. Both were champion footballers and we missed out big time.

Andrew was drafted by Brisbane the year after we drafted Darren; also didn't go.

I've always wondered how that works though. Did players have to nominate for the draft then, or could clubs just name anyone? If they did have to nominate, why would players (such as the Jarman boys) nominate themselves if they had no intentions of going where they were drafted?

He'd love Byron Pickett, they can have eating contests together...

And why oh why is Chris 'Marshmallow' Connolly still at such short odds?

You'd think people would be trying to get out of Adelaide and jump at any opportunity. I admit to spending an entire week in Unley a decade or two ago and it seemed more like a month. One morning I woke up with the worst beer hangover I've had in my life after treating Southwark and West End with gross disregard. Cooper's must do something with the water to obtain their own fine product. The Barossa is OK and you can get a nice piece of flake at Robe but on the whole I'd rather be somewhere else.

Carrying on with the crows theme - just read on footyheads that Shaun Rehn told SEN he's going to be putting his hand up too for our coaching job.

No shortage of applicants is right.

This is all getting a bit exciting, feel we're leading up to a melbourne cup or something, might have to go chuck some bucks on someone.

my money's on Viney, but it is exciting, l reckon budding coaches realise we have a fairly good list that needs a bit of tweaking

Yes & I believe he enjoyed our $15,000.00 sign-on fee as well.

No way i want jarman at our club

I tend to agree and I can't see it happening anyway......

But I do like the fact that there are starting to be people putting their hands up for the role.

probably going to be a few more too.....what do you reckon.,... :D
I reckon you're right :)

Honestly, if you're an assistant with senior coaching ambitions I can't see why you wouldn't say you were 'interested'. That's not to say you'd be a fool not to apply/interview, but surely you'd take a look.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
