Probably not, but seriously, what a disappointment they are.

With a list that stacked they should be in prelims, not struggling to make finals and then eliminated first week.

Maybe their list is a bit overrated? Their midfield is impressive, they have Pearce and then handy players in front but I can't stop thinking Freo are not a fully formed contender.

I honestly feel for Brayshaw and Serong

quality players that were excellent

Tbh they were lucky to be a chance in the last quarter. GC outworked them all around the ground for 3 quarters.

I mean massive chance in general given they had the home ground advantage ED and on paper they had a pretty good line up with not many injury issues at all

I don’t think it is overrated they have quality on all lines.

When they tore us up twice last year I thought they were the real deal, then they lost silly games and failed to replicate that ball movement.

It’s all in the coaches box. JL just doesn’t inspire you as a senior coach

I agree. They are drilled to play a slow conservative transition game. They are the slowest in the afl for ball movement by a long way. That’s coaching.

You could see how good they can be when they have to move the ball quickly to score like last night in the last qtr. Even going way back to the game against us in 2022.

chaos vs control

longmuir definitely wants the latter

macrae, as an opposite example, seems to prefer the former

I don't respect them at all. They are gifted tax payer money simply for the privilege of being in a voting belt held by the dominating party of the last half century. On top of that, all of the shenanigans they pull to get players there. It's blatantly shady. Players suddenly walking into large multimillion dollar properties. Partners suddenly in high paying jobs in the region. Players consistently taking far, FAR below their market value to a degree only seen there. Even Collingwood has their contract challenges. Somehow Geelong manages to re-sign stars on minimum wage. Yeah right! They've been doing it since the 90s and imo it really kicked into gear during the Thompson years. [censored] them.

Nailed it. On top of this and this record, after finished 3rd last year and making a prelim, the AFL gift them 18 games in Victoria. They are the new Carlton brown paper bag brigade. Obviously we would all love to be like Geelong, but jeez they have so many gifts across the board. They should be investigated.

4/4 for WWE tips this week. Next week Hawks and Suns.

I swear that club makes me so angry with their endless ability to succeed at everything.

FREO are the biggest chokers since The Boston Strangler!

[censored] Freo as well. Their supporters are so weird. They have such a weird sense of self-worth. You'd think they were West Coast. Such an irrelevant club.

They used to be likeable until they started stealing our star players. [censored]'em.

His Mum was hysterically funny. She worked very hard to not drop the F-word!

Whoever sits next to her at the Q-clash will have a good time!

Didn't watch last night live but just caught the mini. What a bang up game and what an effort by the Gold Coast Suns! Snatching victory from the jaws of defeat like champions.

For Freo it seems a lesson has been learned. You can't act like winners if you havent been there before.

Agree regarding loosing any liking of Freo after they went on a poaching spree on us. I guess we did get Jeff White from them, but then they have taken the Wiz, Jessy Hogan and Dogger. There have been a few others and we got Linggers, but they seemed quite OK with trading him.

While any dislike of Freo might not be on the same level as Collingwood, I'm also quite happy to see them lurk in irrelevance and starved of sucess. We might not have made finals the past 2 seasons, but at least our club has actually won a premiership and we're not Freo. On that note, this clip cracked me up a few times:

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
