Geelong are still contending whilst we have sunk to the depths of the ladder.

How the hell did we just allow that to happen.

Going back to that night, my god that was such a special night.. you could sense there and then that we were within finger length off winning the flag after that win.

Happy times back then.

That it all happened during Covid has made that whole season feel a bit like a dream.

I had a full blown mental breakdown watching him line up for that goal in lockdown on the floor of my bedroom.

And other than lockdown being over, not much has improved with my mental health while watching us play since 🫠

Watched the last few minutes standing up behind my couch, was a wreck, what a time. Love you demons

F k that was a great moment in history.

But at the same time depressing, how far we have fallen.

That was the single greatest moment i have seen watching Melbourne.

Bang bang bang was great but Gawn kicked a captains goal like no other that day

I was at a footy club 50th anniversary dinner occasionally checking the scores and at 1 stage in the second half were 41 points down.

I thought that’s that a mate on my table said a bit later ou won.

I was shocked and enjoyed watching the replay the next morning.

Living in WA the next month was a very special time.

Even more painful if you also consider the brand's interview after the game.

Where's the love for the club and its supporters gone?

One thing that tears me up inside now is Goodwin's post match presser after the grand final. The way he spoke about the journey the club has been on to reach the pinnacle and I just remember thinking, 'wow we're a successful and relevant club again'. Then Trac is also there as the NS medalist and basically credits Goodwin for transforming him into this elite footballer.

It's staggering how far we've fallen away since then.

Who still has their 2021 Premiership cap?

I didn't enjoy that enough at the time due to stress and still not trusting them.

Good to see Harmsey there.

With a really stubborn selection policy.

Wouldn’t mind Bedford & Jordan back!

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Gold Coast

On Friday, the Demons return to our Casey Fields fortress where they have a 77% win rate. The scent of September is in the air and the struggling Suns are on the horizon. The Cranbourne weather forecast? Ominous, like the match itself: a strong chance of carnage. Let’s be honest, last week’s first half against the West Coast was a training drill but we dropped our guard in the final quarter. While this match is a mismatch on paper — second versus seventeenth — football is won in the wind, the contests, and the moments.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #32 Tom Sparrow

The rugged Sparrow’s career appears to have plateaued in recent years. He makes the side on a week to week basis but he is unable to establish a foothold in the team’s midfield and arguably performs best outside of the contest in a forward position without being a goal kicker. He remains a good honest foot soldier but is not a star.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #33 Tom Fullarton

Fullarton managed a couple of games in the first half of the season but soon found himself back in the VFL. There, he found a niche at centre half back but it was not enough to retain a place on the list at season’s end.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #35 Harrison Petty

Entering 2025, it looked as if Petty would be secured in a defensive position, but plans shifted and he spent more time forward, averaging just over a goal per game throughout the season. It remains uncertain which area of the ground he will be expected to cover under the new coaching regime.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The dynamic small forward, possessing an innate ability to generate excitement with his explosive play around the goals, successfully transitioned into a role that afforded him more time in the midfield. The club also negotiated a long-term deal with Pickett, thereby eliminating any prospect of a move west by their star young player.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #37 Kade Chandler

For a few years now, he has been a reliable, hard working pressure forward, but in 2025, Chandler elevated his performance, becoming an integral component of the team with enough versatility to play effectively on a wing from time to time.
