Hopefully no one refers to Quaynor as a bundle of sticks..

Do you seriously think Buckley would base such an important decision on the result of one game, or even two?

And do you seriously think losing to Collingwood - or as you put it, playing like pusseys [sic] - means writing off 2026?

Absolutely likely.

No experienced coach worth his salt will want to coach a team that's completely bereft of spirit, will or desire to win a game of sport and showing dissinterest imv.

Complete waste of time.

A few first timers might as they'll be after the entry opportunity and the circus $$ that come with it a la MN.

Also an experienced coach like Buckley would be basing his decision on a body of work throughout the year.

We haven't exactly covered ourselves in glory in many matches. If he's teetering on the brink and witnesses two absolute howlers to end the season... yes, it might be the straw that decides things.

Or Kozzy gets suspended to delay the start of his next season.

Him missing the first 3 games of our season absolutely [censored] us this year.

Hilarious how Collingwood and Maynard are getting their feelings hurt over harmless words, but happily applauded Maynard after deliberately knocking out and consequently retired a player. The amount of victim playing by them this week has been embarrassing.

4 weeks for Rankine in theory is an absolute joke, but the likes of Cripps wins a Brownlow for concussing a player.

knock out a player = ok with no suspension. Hurting feelings with words = multiple weeks suspension. 🤡

After hearing Maynard talk yesterday, I really want to rub salt into the wound and beat them, while also knocking them out of the top 4 in the process.

Sorry, but it needs to be said: the words that were allegedly used are not harmless.

Do we go with Langdon on the chosen one again?

This trick has been done, worked really well. But now they will be prepped and the umps will be pre warned to protect the chosen one. I am sure there will be more protection on him.

The filth will be looking for a win to get top 4 and a healthy percentage boost to stay ahead of GC & Hawthorn.

Even if we can't win, I hope we can at least deny them the %

The AFL has prepared the umpires to ensure a lopsided free kicks tally. It’s inconceivable that they’d allow Collingwood not to be major players in the finals

Last time we played these goons in the final round of the year was 2024. The Daicos boys had 80 disposals between them

I'm tipping there were no useful learnings for the Demons brains trust.....

A similar game style to the Hawks so expect the same

The Pies had a cry to the AFL about the umpiring in their game versus Adelaide. So you just know they will get every soft free on Friday.

Warning: do not enter a 2m radius surrounding N Daicos

This game is stupid. Seriously can't wait for the season to be over.

However I will be happy if we can at least run the Pies the way we did on King's Birthday. Turn it into a boghole for all I care, how's the weather looking for it?

Buckley is so desperate to coach again he'd accept an offer from Fitzroy.

I’m referring specifically to this comment of yours…

“If they come out and play like pussys two weeks in a row and AGAIN against the Pies you can forget any resurrection in 2026 and i'd very much doubt we'd see Buckley coming anywhere near us.”

… and its implications.

Now you’re saying…

“Also an experienced coach like Buckley would be basing his decision on a body of work throughout the year.”

… which is what you should’ve (but didn’t) say in the first place.

The Hawks have got their game in great shape and one of the best defensive sides at the minute. Collingwood are struggling going forward and their defence has tapered off. We'll be throwing the game away if we don't put some work into the Daicos boys as this one is very winnable. Both teams also coming off 6 day breaks.

The Hawks are flying at the moment. Our effort was good, they are just fitter, cleaner and better organised than we are at the moment.

Hawks have won 4 of their last 5, with the only loss during that time being to Adelaide away (14 points), despite leading by 8 at 3QT. The only teams in better form are Adelaide and Geelong.

Pies are battling and missing some key personnel. If we bring a similar effort to what we did against the Hawks and Dogs we'll run them very late. A lift from Pickett and a fair shake from the fluroscents would see us with a chance (IMV)

I didn't think i needed to remind anyone of what a crappola year we've had (even leading up to the game against the Hawks) GW

Simon getting the chop was proof enough of that surely.

If we had a stack of injuries or other excuses (like a serious off field issue impacting for many weeks) and/or a reasonable / middling year, i doubt anything that happened in the last few weeks would matter much at all to anyone considering taking on the senior role.

The senior leaders (i'm assuming bar Max as there's no need to ask) were also asked (by Chaplin) to step up against the Hawks last week and 'drive the standards expected' (lead by example / guiding voices on the field etc). Well a few did but the bulk of them went AWOL. Hardly inspiring for fans / members or anyone else who might have been watching.

Let's unleash AJ on that vile thug Maynard!

Time for a long belated revenge!

Carl Ditterich style! 🤣

At the time, I was even more impressed with Biffin's elbow work in Round 22 1979. Grand days from the safety of the stand.

The Pies are critically vulnerable. Hill won’t play and I suspect will request a trade EOY.

if we take the right mindset we will beat them. Pies are ripe for the picking.

Dees by 7 points, with Kozzie kicking 5.3.

Max to dominate Cameron and kick an ugly 1.3 with the goal coming on the run from outside 50.

(I am in denial, more likely that we'll play Collingwood into form and they'll win the flag.)

The Demons return to Casey Fields (aka the Field of Dreams) this Saturday to host the Saints in Round 2. If you’re feeling lucky, head down the Monash for some family-friendly footy—you might even walk away a winner. The first 5,000 adults through the gate will receive an entry into the $10,000 helicopter ball drop. With Casey’s infamous wind, what could possibly go wrong? Closest ball to the pin wins. So spread the word, get down there—and good luck!

  • PREVIEW: Collingwood

Way back in March we contemplated the possibility of a Demon resurgence after Simon Goodwin’s summer of love. Many issues at the club had seemingly been addressed, key players were returning from injury and a brand new day was about to dawn. We imagined the coach pulling a rabbit out of a hat. The team would roar up the charts, push aside every opponent and make its way to a Grand Final ending in ultimate triumph with Goody and Max holding the premiership cup aloft under a shower of red and blue ticker tape.
