Crows were already my favourites for the flag past few weeks. The way their defence stood up tonight and given that they can now let Burgess select which players to rest for the next 2 weeks before a home final makes me even more confident.

After watching the girls game I flicked it over to the cricket then flicked it back to watch the last 2 minutes. I was convinced the pies were going to get a goal at the end.

I dislike Collingwood as much as anyone nut that should had been a free against thilthorpe when he kicked the ball away.

Anyway Collingwood lost so that's ok

I hear ya but i didn’t get the commentators going on about it

how is it time wasting when the ball is out of bounds?

Pies with double the inside 50’s

hilarious

Reminds me of a certain final 😭

Still confounds me we can have a non-MFC thread on this board but we can’t have one on the Melbourne Demons team that is once again consistently showing up for the club and the fans.

English football on channel 9?

Yes please!

It's a rule if you kick or punch the ball while it's over the line it's a free kick

Maybe we shouldn't have scored those last few goals. Then hawthorn will be 4th & the pies drop.

A few teams stuffed up there top 4 chances this weekend.

If our team has any pride, they will give it a red hot next week to try and take Collingwood out of the finals.

Poor Flea, gee I feel sorry for him.... NOT

Another week of Garry Lyon heading up the Collingwood cheer squad.

He knows where his bread is buttered.

It's so obvious isn't it? Just cannot talk them up enough. (Insert spew emoji here.)

They'll probably drop one of their home finals, and we'll end up with the usual suspects in the GF. Not getting any hopes up!

We just have to beat them by 300 points or something for that to happen.

Fremantle losing to Brisbane pretty much locked Collingwood (and Hawthorn now) into finals, given Fremantle's much lower percentage.

We can hold them out of top 4, though. And for a side which was 10 points clear on top of the ladder after 16 games, that'll be some achievement.

Dumb and dumber joining forces. These 2 fanbases deserve each other in all honesty… like 2 peas in a pod.

2 of the most feral fanbases, arguably the most despised in the league calling out other fans. 🤡

Collingwood fans are going nuts on social media about footage of the Thilthorpe kick, and some throws.

They haven’t been on the end of some contentious decisions late in games since 2003, so this is foreign territory for them.

Just watched the Casey v Hawks VFL game, and I swear the standard was better than the Tigers v North AFL game, which was almost unwatchable.

No way. If that had been a free kick that determined the outcome of the game, there would have rightly been an uproar. The purpose of free kicks should be confined to actions that impact either the course of play or the safety of a player. What Thilthorp did, did neither.

Kicking the ball away belongs in the same camp of staging for free kicks or starting a melee in my opinion. Undesirable behaviour that we want stamped out, but should only have an off-field consequence, ie a fine.

Last night’s game was an absolute cracker and made me want more. If it had been decided by a meat-head having a victimless brain fart, I can’t say I’d be talking the same way about it.

Geelong will finish 2nd. Have missed finals just twice in 17 years (one of those years directly after their last premiership), have won 4 flags in that time, and somehow their last 9 games of the season had just one game against other teams in the 8 (and 4 at GMHBA).

In the same time we’ve played 5 finals teams, and just as a comparison - so has last years wooden spooner Richmond.

Equalisation is dead, and nobody talks about it anymore.

At least I'll join the choir invisibule before there they move to private clubs run as any other business with no limits on $.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
