I’m with you Bates. I laughed at the end and I’m surprised how unfazed I am with this. I actually think this loss may have some good outcomes. This outlines how the football department needs some strategic change. Goody and Richardson need to go. Lamb needs to work his butt off and bring in some good role players or fringe players at other clubs who are not getting a chance to play at their club. We need to do a Jordan and Bedford to other clubs.

Taylor needs to look far and wide with our second and third rounders. Taylor is not the problem as he has done well with his drafting, but he needs to continue drafting players to suit the new style of play. Windsor, Langford and Lindsay is a good start. We can’t allow the coaching group to ruin their abilities.

It's difficult only having one sub, need to balance the risk of early injury vs getting quick/fresh legs in at the end.
Chuck has positive attributes, but they're only shown when everything is going well.
To be a good sub IMO you need to have one standout attribute whether that be versatility/pace/physicality/marking/goals or whatever - and Spargo doesnt really tick any of those boxes.
As i said in another thread, if he's not starting, he probably should be lining up for Casey.

Jefferson dropped chest marks in miles of space and nearly missed the ball on set shots last week. He had to be dropped for his own sake.

Petty was his usual poor self but did a role and allowed Fritsch and Melk to play deeper.

Heaven knows why Fritsch was the spare back and not Petty tho. That’s a howler.

But this loss was overwhelmingly on our midfield - who are also our leaders and most expensive players - just having zero stamina, smarts, composure or skills.

They just summed it up perfectly on the first crack. It seemed the players were confused on what was going to happen.

They pointed out that max didn't have to stand on the mark, he should have got back, they had no idea what viney was doing standing by himself on the wing, then they showed bowey run with his back to the play with no awareness.

They pointed out Goodwin wasn't yelling out instructions.

Then pointed out how our leaders capitulated, yet Marshall & millera worked out what they were going to do & they executed it

Half watching First Crack and the last quarter highlights. Some of these goals are absolutely pathetic. Does anyone know how many marks they took I50 that quarter? When our defence was at its nest, that was the one thing I'd never expect to lose to.

It really stinks.

Defensive forward is a reasonable sub, he got that tackle that could’ve saved the game with just a fraction more smart play from the other clowns.

Doesn’t matter who gets injured week in and week out we and most other clubs bring on a half forward.

Spargo looked flat when he first came on tho. I think he’s as checked out as most of the rest of them.

You that say about Jefferson but Petty was absolutely rubbish and has been for the best part of two year. How you can defend him on today effort by saying he played his role is laughable. Most funniest part was Liam [censored] Stocker out bodied him in a one on one contest up forward and then waltzing away whilst Petty lagged behind.

He wasn't playing on their best defender in Wilkie, that was Melksham so he clearly didn't have a defined role.

Was his role today to drop an easy mark right on our goal the line with 2 minutes to go?

Oved that he came on fresh in the last quarter and immediatelyturned it straight over on the wing.

Had a Sydney fan mock me in a group chat so i said 'at least we weren't the only team to lose a game in one quarter this round', was happy with that - but then he said that was 'the best comeback ever'.

1-1 after 90 minutes, onto Extra-Time and penalties it seems.

That might be the game we had to lose, and in that fashion.
