I’ve been up since 7am, Big Spooky One. My precious girls (aka my pet chooks) woke me early. They got confused and thought it was later in the morning. Either that or they know it’s gameday and they love hanging with me when I’m manic. 😂

Anyways… Just for something different I’m tipping the Dees today 😅

Us by Maysie and a cardiac arrest (1 point)

GO THE MIGHTY DEES!!!

PS: they’re letting me wave a giant flag today. I’m on probation. This is a test and the pass mark is zero eyes taken out. Wish me (and surrounding fans) luck!

Wave well little rack i will keep an eye out for you.p.s i have told the st johns medics to take extra eye patches today

What could possibly go wrong?

I see that Sportsbet have us as slight favourites. We've won 1 of our last 5 games, Saints have lost all 5. Clash of the Titans.

Dees don’t let guys like Sharman or Wood or Higgins or Owens kick 4 or more goals. Amazing how many average “no namers” like Moir and Menzie have a day out against us

Fun fact. The Essendon no name that destroyed us in Gather Round is languishing in the Essendon magoos despite his team experiencing one of the worst injury crisis of all time.

I’m tipping Collard to be the nominated “no name” of the day to kick 4 goals and be the sole difference in an 11 point win for St Kilda.

I never got the appeal of the snow. It's cold, it's wet and it hurts when you fall. Give me the beach any day 😎

Don't fall !! 😉

Probably be selling my gear anyway. Knees not so keen these days.

Funny... never seen much appeal sitting on a beach. ( and I've often lived near one... still do lol)

Firing up the box might be the go later.

Go us !!

There's so much to digest in this single sentence.

(If it's a cultural reference to something, it's gone completely over my head.)

Carryover player for today

Say hello to my little friend…

Bought a couple of these at the local milk-bar ($4.50 each!), so much caffeine it’s not funny. This’ll keep me going ‘til the first bounce, then I’ll have anothery. Dare iced coffee lightly carbonated in a can, sounds revolting right? And it is. It’s disgusting but once you get it past the gag reflex it’s fine.

Under the roof we should be able to showcase our superior skills

😬

  1. Start the game like you’re prepared. Our slow starts are becoming systemic. Turn it on from minute 1 to the siren. Relax time is AFTER the game.

Agree with most of this but the flow starts have been a pain in the backside gif years. Turn up to play !!

We need a person only for this , get them ready to play !!

Saints on a losing streak. Like the Blues last week.

Memo to Goodwin … it’s last chance saloon

Dees MUST win this or it’s getting more than disappointing , it’s EMBARRASSING as a club !!

Here’s some basic tips from the other side of the fence

  1. Wanganeen Milera … you let him run around for 37 possessions last time. Little pressure. wtf. At least make sure he’s under pressure

  2. Dees don’t let guys like Sharman or Wood or Higgins or Owens kick 4 or more goals. Amazing how many average “no namers” like Moir and Menzie have a day out against us

  3. DONT KICK TO WILKIE. Last time the strategy was to kick it so he could intercept. Ffs. It was dumb. Dumb footy.

  4. Protect Kozzzzzy. Windhager will go to a hard tag. Other clubs like cats and pies protect their players getting tags. Blocks. Bumps. Etc. Stand up for your teammates

  5. Centre clearances. Need to get this sorted as we have been weak each week. We were pathetic

  6. Development. Like to see Langford used for 5 or 6 CBAs this week. That’s where his future lies. Not on a wing.

  7. Start the game like you’re prepared. Our slow starts are becoming systemic. Turn it on from minute 1 to the siren. Relax time is AFTER the game.

Let’s see how many of the 7 get done !!

Carlton were on a losing streak as well. That went well

So we're favourites today...

Last time we played Saints, lost by 5 goals

Last time we played Marvel, lost by 10 goals (to Norf 🤢)

Makes sense!

Spargo our sub

Surely agreeable to all here…

On my way in with the father in law who is a mad saints supporter in the Halos Lounge. Going to have to be well behaved! 🔴🔵

I'm completely devoid of all confidence at this point of the season so honestly not sure if we will come close to them.

The only thing giving me any hope is that if we get 25+ scoring shots again, surely we will do better than 7.21. They are playing indoors after all!!

In the pre-game thread people were asking about how to use their online membership to get access... is this a replacement home game for us?

Petty up forward, Spargo in the team.... at Marvel, and an out of form St Kilda with Ross Lyon poised to completely out coach or resident "learnings" genius...

This game has all the hallmarks of a completely ruined Sunday afternoon

I hope I'm wrong

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
