Looks like McDonald in the whites jumper (B team) and Kynan Brown in the Blue (A team) at training.. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Oh for goodness sake...surely they're not even remotely considering dropping our best defender from last week.

Well Petty is coming back through the reserves and May will be in for Lever so I reckon McDonald stays in.

Interesting that Petty's confirmed VFL this week because he hasn't played for 4 weeks.

They've brought back senior players straight back into the side off way longer lay offs.

A soft drop?

Photos could be misleading. Laurie and Brown in both white and blue jumpers.

Petracca and Gawn also in white in one of the photos.

Could be. Could also be that this is his second concussion this season and they want to see how he pulls up, and given our season is over in terms of finals, there’s no point risking him.

It’s also possible that they are determined to keep Jeffo and JVR in the seniors for a few more weeks.

Demonland about to go into meltdown at 6.40 when Tmac is dropped

If Xerri doesn't drop him first.

I reckon a few ( thousand) on here are about to lose their Sheeeeeeit! over selection......Including ME!!

I’ve been guilty of assuming the jumper colours at training indicate selection. But I suspect this is the answer.

Today, we saw photos of the following:

Blue - Gawn, Langdon, Oliver, Turner, Fritsch, Trac, Laurie, Bowey, Brown, Windsor

White - Gawn, Trac, Rivers, Woewodin (albeit these four were white vests over blue jumpers), Campbell, Laurie, Mentha, Billings, TMac

So Laurie clearly in both blue and white.

All told, tells us little I would have thought.

I like that they are persisting with jeffo and Kolt , but I would have like to see X get a rest, or maybe they will make him the sub

The coaches are clearly seeing something with Sharp that I'm not.

I'd much rather give Laurie a run.

Hoped for May. But surprise Sharp. Is back but he did play well for Casey

I'm glad we drafted Howes for the Casey team. I mean, [censored] the future, am I right?

I’m surprised Spargo wasn’t chosen ahead of Sharp.

Reckon they've stamped Bill's card.

Sharp was very good in the VFL last week, as was Billings and Spargs, all could be a like for like replacement.

Unlucky for Howes who played a blinder as well

Big midfield battle coming up, will be a good test

He got a 3 week rest.

Sharp will be sub

He is a good sub option

Very good changes overall

Glad Petty has to earn his spot and we are keeping youth in

I’ve seen more in Sharp than Laurie

I would not say Spargo was very good for Casey last week. 16 disposals for an experienced AFL player in a lower league is, at best good. I’d say he was ok.

Like a few others, I’m slightly mystified by Sharp’s selection.

I would have brought back Howes for Sparrow, played him on the wing, done a few other ‘swings and roundabouts’ and trialed Langford as an inside mid / forward (which is where I think his future lies).

………. but that’s just me, and others are far better placed than me, to make such a call!

Out of interest, which defender would you drop for Howes?

He is being groomed as a backman. When he’s played for the demons several times he hasn’t shown much. So a good game at Casey might not be enough to work his way in

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
