Been dealing with it all year !!

Should be allowed to heal properly

Jake’s ankles are absolutely cooked. Pack it in for 2025, and just get his body right. He’s just not been getting any continuity with that injury and pushing him to play is definitely doing nothing for his injury or his form.

Great chance to keep Tmac, and possibly debut Adams in a few weeks time.

The Blues will lose both McGovern (hamstring) and Fantasia (hamstring) for Saturday night's clash against the Demons. That news is compounded by the fact McKay (knee) and Silvagni (groin) remain sidelined, while Saad (concussion) still faces a fitness test to return in time.

Blues have several of their top 10 most important players out and are in worse form than us...

So in short, I'm prepared for Charlie to dominate, a no-name VFL level player to kick multiple goals on May and for us to lose the game by 5 points.

Can't wait.

Should be a good game, Carlton usually have strong first quarters and then fall off, and we usually are slow and pick it up.

Will be interesting to see what happens. Especially with both teams having a lot in common, ie: contest, trapping it in the forward half.

Lever MUST be out!! Jeffo to kick 10!! 😁☠️😜 um slight exageration a couple would be good!

Edited by picket fence

Changes for me.

In: May, Howes, Laurie/Billings/Spargo

Out: Lever, Windsor/Lindsay, Sparrow

Petty can come back through the reserves.

Dunno about one trick Jnr. His forte has always been a chess like footy brain. He reads the ball very very well and even as he attacked the ball in flight he'd be preparing to give off..or hold for option's. A big thinker who had sublime agility.

He still thinks but his body won't play ball now.

It is hard to judge his performances and 'footy brain' when his body doesn't let him get to where he has decided he wants to be. He needs a long break to get the ankle and tendons 100%, even if that means no more 2005.

No WORSE than that... if Petty gets a game in front of our future then we are in diabolical state, both ROO and JEFFO starting to play with some synergy and starting to show something, Melky in "Stellar" form and I thought Frittas game higher up the ground a revelation... Petty is not a forwards bootlace! PREMIERSHIP defender and thats where he should play.... OR NOT AT ALL!

Petts is only 25yo. He IS our future, along with the other young players.

Mr Fence. I agree with JVR and Jeffo hopefully being our forward future, but as 👻 has said, HP is also our future though probably as the KPP defender post May and Lever so he does need game time there - perhaps Lever's setback could be Pett's moment.

Lever already ruled out, according to the AFL website's injury list.

Sadly it seems to go that way :(

had forgotten about spargo; his vfl game was excellent

IN: may, spargo, petty
OUT: plugger mac, sparrow, tholstrup

i love tommy, but if may is fit it's the only change to make - big body tall defender for bigger brute tall defender

tholstrup doesn't really play as a 'small' forward so petty can replace him in the forward line, while spargo gives the forward pressure position coverage in sparrow's enforced absence

the other one is howes might come in for lever, although i suspect he'll stay in the side

You’ve clearly lost the plot. TMac had 17 disposals & 11 marks & you want to drop our best defender? [censored].

I wonder whether we can get away with just May and Howes for Lever and Sparrow.

Play Howes where Rivers has been, play Rivers where Sparrow has been.

Avoids us having to drop Windsor or Lindsay (who maybe need a spell, but otherwise I just want to see them keep playing and learning), and avoids a Spargo/Laurie inclusion.

Rivers plays HB or mid, no universe he gets played at HF.

A couple of days out from the match we were at $1.23, second shortest odds of the round with Brisbane at $1.22 vs Carlton.

Actually, I think that's what we started, or thereabouts (ie 1.25 not 1.45).

Lever's thinking of parting ways with his ankle

Can confirm Lever's ankle and its manager were seen meeting with Peter Bell over lunch at a bayside cafe this week.

On form and available personnel we really should give Carlton another belting that they so richly deserve….we kicked the highest score of the round last week so the forward line is starting to click. But I’d take a 1 point win over them as long as we get the points.

Well, not with Lever out injured I don’t 😜

Out Lever, Sparrow

Rivers to rotate through midfield/half forward with Viney.

Lindsay as sub.

Petty to get a full game in at Casey.

Nailed it.

Tholstrup is lucky to survive, and i'd be open to giving Lindsay a game at Casey or just a week off, but there's no-one at VFL level pushing for replacement of either player.

But this week IS Clarrie’s 200th. You were right the first time 👍🏽

And barring anything unforeseen, the following week is Maysie’s 250th 🎉🥳

You guys in the DA would no for sure.

Is the club going to mention this at all?

@The Panglossian can you please have the same weird feeling for this game that you had for the kangaroos game

Thank you

18.11 wasn’t accurate enough.

We might get 19.6 v Carlton.

And….We must remember to pretend we’ve touched it every time they kick a goal.

We never miss a milestone. We’ll have an enormous graphic of Claz on the banner on Saturday night ♥️💙

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
