Max gawn was on mmm rush hour this afternoon apparently. Anyone catch it, of course the 2 players traded would have been mentioned

The best bit of that clip was Billy taking the pizz out of Max when he alluded to Grundy and Luke Jackson being in the one team - “they’d be playing VFL, Gawny”

Not much else said really. There is 2 mins of ads in the about 4 min clip too…

I had 3 categories for midfielders

Inside mid

Running mid

Mid/forward rotation

Riley Onley is unique. No sure he fits into any of those 3. Like Cripps, he has a size advantage over other midfielders and can still burst through at clearance. He’s a “big tall mid” who has shown the physical power and footy ability to really stand out. A great addition.

Langford (191) and Culley (194) aren’t that much smaller. Midfield bulls everywhere.

What would you do if you were the list manager this year?

Who retires?

Who is delisted?

Who is pushed for trade?

Going to have another go at assessing the 2026 EOC crop way ahead of time to see how my thinking stacks up against Lambs and to see who outperforms their expected output and earns themselves longer

Retire: May, McDonald, Campbell,

Delist: McAdam, Henderson, Laurie, Johnson, Moniz-Wakefield (i wouldnt with AMW personally)

Trade/FA: Sparrow

this is what i predict Lamb will see it, i think maybe Melky holds on again, if they get tight for list spots Culley might get squeezed, i think theyll go around AGAIN on Jefferson (i wouldn't)

If it was up to me you'd swap Jefferson and AMW.

I think also a trade watch on Lever at the end of the season too, could get a May-esque nudge if his can't get on top of his knee/ankle issues

Some media reporting that Lamb turned down an approach from Adelaide to remain at the club.

Hit and miss for mine. Wouldn't have been a loss at all.

Perhaps but we have had a lot of change and I think some stability, especially this close to the season is a good thing.

That’s a shame.

Criticism of Lamb seems to be based on the assumption that he chooses the players traded in and out. That would be wrong - he is not a talent spotter, surely he is the person who gets the deals done. And he has done a superb job for years in significantly improving our draft position and securing players, as identified by others in the football department.

I'm very glad we still have him!

How much of our 2026 salary cap is Lamb paying to players who are no longer at the club? Oliver, Brayshaw, May, ...

He is completely unaccountable for his decision making - no wonder he wants to stay. The only safer roles would be working for the Victorian Government.

Brayshaw receiving a concussion that caused changes to his brain is Lamb's fault? Spare me.

Paying Oliver is far from ideal but when Carlton were sniffing around in 2022, I'm sure you weren't worried we signed him to a long term deal. At this stage, he was our most elite trainer. No one could foresee the trouble he would find.

Lolworthy. His fault Brayshaw got injured...his fault Oliver went off the rails, and his fault May's time was up???

Players have to be accountable, & Brayshaw was dead set unlucky.

And honestly the previous coach had a bigger say than Lamb had on any of our lists progression.

You are barking up the wrong tree, borders on ridiculous fantasy.

In what way is he "completely unaccountable"? I expect the club have some KPIs he needs to meet. Whether they're the same KPIs that you or I might choose is irrelevant. The point is, I'm sure he's held accountable internally.

Yet in spite of all that we’re still under the salary cap, we’ve still managed to attract decent players to the club and pay them, we’ve still managed to re-sign players that easily could have gone elsewhere (Kozzie Pickett, come on down), and we’ve still managed to keep required players (except cough Judd cough McVee).

Your argument is one FOR Lamb, not against him, because in spite of having his hands tied by those payouts, he’s still building and maintaining the list.

For those that have bagged Lamb in the past (me included), this from Ken Hinkley just then:

“I’m not surprised Tim Lamb was sought after by Adelaide. He’s highly regarded around the league.

Weird that top 8 teams are trying to head hunt him huh?
