The kicking skills and smarts of sidebottom,pendles , daicos v the lack of skill and composure of clarry, trac ,gawn and rivers is the difference.

Loved Fritta's goals in that last quarter but that decision to play on is stuck in my head. For a guy who's job is to kick goals when the chances come and a guy who has done it in the biggest game, I was baffled with this decision to play on. There was the other moment when he chose to kick to the top of the square.

He kicked one shortly after that from his great handball so I don't want to go too hard but n a game where goals are hard to come by you just tear your hair out in those moments. You just don't see Collingwood doing this in pressure moments.

We draft a key with forward with genuine potential and don't allow him to play his natural position for more than 5 minutes each quarter. It's no surprise he's struggling, I'd like to see more from him too but he's clearly being mismanaged.

Agree the kid will ask for a trade, having to ruck and not focus on his fwd craft, yet see who pies have traded in exp , membrey mcstay, Schultz, vs zip, why do wee need fwds when we have defenders turning into fwds

They know they can't deliver with precision.
So they bomb.
Get it in there and hope someone else can finish.
That's the game plan.
Problem is they cannot even bomb to the forwards advantage.

Finals are gone, just play the good kids. Tholstrup has to keep playing, Windsor needs full games but not at half back. Jefferson has half a year to show if he's got anything to hope for.

Time for list management to figure out how we get back into the first round or early second round.

Think it's time we try JVR as a defender (at Casey).

Absolutely. Umpires are flawed humans, doing their best. As such the AFL flagrantly disrespect them by not allowing optimisation of their abilities - as full-time professionals, disrespect us and our investment (at every level) by allowing the game to be so much less than it should be, and disrespects every club/team who has to SILENTLY accept obstruction to the single thing they’re trying to achieve -winning by unimpeachable, dedicated effort.

Yep, but sadly his yips this year means he just doesn’t trust his set-shot kicking - goal square in front excepted. Every other season, he just takes the set shot, and even milks the expectation.

The 'review ' tapes should provide distinct 'learnings'

It’s time a few coaches spoke openly about the standard of umpiring. It’s embarrassing and ruins games. I rarely account for umpiring and still believe we lost that game with a handful of bad decisions but geez they were awful today.

On a positive note I thought Kolt contributed today, kicked one could have had two if it travelled one more metre or so, applied pressure etc

He should stay in for the rest of the year now to give him an opportunity to cement his spot in the side. Guys like Jeffo, Adams etc need to be given a block of games as well.

Lever was also very good today, I wanted him dropped after last week but he stood up today.

May was heroic in defence as always.

He had just kicked two on the run, his confidence should have been sky high. Was only 20m out it was a gimme.
