Strange, seems to be Kayo only! You're right, LITD, that theoretically Binge will also stream it (according to the AFL website). But my understanding of the poxtel set up is the same as WWSW's understanding

Binge shows the AFL when the game is on free to air. Where a game is not on national free to air is the grey area.

Seems that such games are a "blackout". Makes sense otherwise but for Saturdays Binge would canibalise Kayo.

Binge is in its death throes I suspect now that HBO has gone.

25 minutes ago, whatwhat say what said:

binge is non-sport poxtel; kayo is sport-only poxtel

it should be the c7 game nationally i would have thought, at 3.20pm est?

Thank for this.

I'll double check 7 but I couldn't find it for Sydney/ Wollongong.

Enjoy the game.

Yep I'm confused according to https://www.afl.com.au/broadcast-guide-premiership

Which is probably what you just checked 7 won't be showing it.

It also says Bing will be streaming but not on our 10 dollar sbctn. it doesn't show up.

It's not hard to get these things right.

As for seven they probably don't have access to any cameras in the NT venue.

Thanks DP.

It's on free to air 7mate in Brisbane. So it's not like 7 don't have the cameras or feed!

What a lovely day it would had been to play at the G.

Well I'll be following the scores at work but I'm hoping for a good win.

Not just to get closer to the 8 but to pass essendon

Currently 13 degrees in the Alice after an overnight low of 3.2. No wind to speak of with around 19/20 degrees expected by game time and bright sunshine.

Without the wind, we might engender straight kicking for goal, too. Carna Dees!

Interesting, I've never seen that, but I just go straight to Kayo for footy content.

You'd think McVee gets the job on Jack Higgins today who's been a real barometer for St Kilda this season. Shutting him down will go a long way towards a win today.

There used to be an online site where you can watch things like the local 7mate in Brisbane.

I can't recall what it is though!

Anyone?

Agreed.

Would’ve been awesome to head to the G on back to back sunny Sunday arvos with the vibes as high as they’ve been for a long time.

However, It’s no point sooking it up as we’ve shown no indications we’re going to leave the Alice anytime soon, unless Guerra has other ideas.

Thanks LFS. All we have here on seven mate is deep H20 salvage. Not for me.

I'll try a mates kayo account.

Or radio. That would bring back memories

Times are tough.

But footy lifts one up.

Been debated for a long time. NT pays us close to $1M for this match.

What is strange is that we are playing a Melbourne based club whereas in the past it was usually an interstate club. If played in Melbourne we would have got a crowd of 30-40k at most which would return maybe $200k. ( Around 25k is considered the unpublished break even number for the MCG).

For me I like it as it helps avoid the killer game in Darwin

Are we wearing our indigenous guernsey today??? Seems like a good idea given footy in the NT. It’s a ripper jumper and makes sense to wear it. Anyone know yet?

What’s to stop the AFL next year scheduling us in an away game against Gold Coast in Darwin in round 9 and then our home Alice Springs game in round 12?

Agree with you that it’s strange we’re playing St Kilda up there as opposed to a Freo or Port but that might be a good thing??

No. If last year was an indication.

Danger game.

These are the games we ‘should win’ on paper, but would be oh so Melbourne to let this slip.

Don’t be complacent Dees, team effort and we win. Leave it to individuals, we may be in trouble.

Come on!!!!

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
