No way Tholstrup comes out. 11th for pressure from 63% TOG. No coincidence are best 2 pressure games with his return to the side.

Frittas 2.2 might save him but for a bloke dropped, showing absolutely zero in the VFL to warrant a return other than Melksham injury it was a really poor night from him.

Zero tackles while the rest of the forwardline are breaking records in F50 tackles.

Maybe it's not expected of him, but his lack of intent and pressure is really disappointing.

We must bring in another tall defender. Playing with fire with so few talls in the team. Turner being able to go forward or back is handy. I prefer JVR to AJ as ceiling is higher.

Difficult to split Sharp and Tholstrup without knowing their KPIs but I think both have been ok recently. Whoever stays is sub.

*Obviously JVR ended the game with 5.2, but AJ’s five tackles along with his 3.5. I wouldn’t be totally opposed to the JVR selection, but I’m a big fan of the physicality that AJ has brought since going back to the VFL.

One benefit of AJ over JVR is the ruckwork. A lot of what ifs for AJ if he had kicked better than 3.5 yesterdsy.

As @dazzledavey36 has said, West Coast have a tall forward line so we may have no choice, but I reckon Rivers has found serious form the last two weeks in the backline so I’m not sure we now want to mess with that too much.

What is it with posters wanting to drop Tholstrup. Did I watch a different game last night. FFS I thought he did well.

WCE forward line is pretty tall with Allan, Waterman and Archer Reid (203cm). I think we would prefer to play three tall defenders and I like Turner as a player. I would look at Windsor's spot in the back 7 and see if it is working. Windsor's kicking has been poor. Rivers has been much better in defence and I would not shift him and Salem, Bowey and McVee are locks in the side.

JVR for Fullarton seems obvious given how well JVR played yesterday.

Melksham could be the sub if he comes in or he could push Tholstrup or Spargo to be sub.

I would be dropping Fullarton and Sharp. But this means there will be one unlucky player who is dropped from the 23 if all of JVR, Melksham and Turner come back in. Selection this week will be hard (for a good reason).

Out Sharp Fritsch Fullerton

Turner looked excellent back and we are playing too short back for a West Coast taller forwardline. Also frees Rivers up into the midfield rotation.

Fritsch was only in for Melksham injury management. Yes kicked two goals but pressure was poor and continued to not put it to players in best position.

Fullerton has had his chances and just does not display the required intensity. JVR had the mits and kicks working again yesterday at Casey. Being in WA would play him over AJ who was also good.

One of Sharp, Kolt, Spargo will make way. Suggest Kolt will be sub and Sharp miss.

In a perfect world we would have rested Max either last night or next week against the Eagles.

It's time to think of 2026 and to play 2025 more in hope rather than any planned way to make finals.

The Hawthorn match will pretty well decide our season.

Being one for compromise I'd play Tom Campbell as sub. (Weather for Perth is looking warm)

Win in the West and the slight pulse continues.

JVR to return and Petty down back please. (It's the future).

Not having a VFL game next week is a worry. I can understand that 4 emergencies go to Perth but there has to be a better way

Why JVR? You want more of a player wandering around looking lost with little guile in his running patterns and regularly being pushed under the ball. I often watch him pointing to other players to doir job while he is in no-person’s land looking like he doesn’t know what day it is.

And do you like selecting players who even when the ball is delivered properly to them cannot even take a chest mark?

JVR should remain in the seconds until he learns to be a forward which I doubt is possible.

I know it is not a popular view but I have come to the view that he is in the Sam W. mould.

I think the MFC should ensure Turner is developed further as at least he can take a mark and seems to no where to run to get into viable positions. JVR cannot do that.

The problem is bing there is no VFL game next week. So he can only get game time in the seniors. Turner was out with concussion, the extra week off is a good idea. Playing after concussion was terrible in the past it is serious problem so let's be conservative.

Although he still a great defender he is holding on to his opponent if they’re about to get away from him due to his lack of pace and I’m surprised he hasn’t given away more free kicks due to this. Was clear last night and that was against a slow Lynch…

We would have taken 4 AFL players to Perth as emergencies. These would have been the players on the cusp of selection.

Perhaps a Monday night game or a Monday morning game (remembering most VFL listed players have work/study commitments) would be possible but then the emergencies don't get a break.

The lack of a VFL round during Gather Round was abysmal though.
