As good as it is to get the win and a massive relief we still only kicked 1 goal in the last and that is a worry.

Just heard on the radio Max say at 3QT "We ain't losing this"

If Max Gawn says we ain't losing this, you better just take it to the bank.

That's what I'm talking about.

Too early to talk about back to back flags?

Well done Chaps

Still need to improve fitness in the 2nd Half but at least we now know they are capable

Next 2 games will be crucial…

Good win but lost the last quarter yet again. Disappointing

Meh. We kicked 1.6 and at least 3 of those misses (Gawn, Chandler and Melksham) should have been goals. I think a few rushes of blood under the circumstances are understandable - the fact that we didn’t lie down for the first time this year is very pleasing.

We looked like we meant business from the beginning. Long may it continue 🙏

Got the lead out of our saddle bags in Fritz and JVR. Petty with 4. Go Dees.

No May, no Lever either just quietly.

Wooooo!! Watching from Coron Phillipines, only saw the last quarter, missed all the fun early so will rewatch.

Any dees supporters in town let’s go for a beer 🍻

Liked the changes and they worked so hats off to Goody.

Kozzie just, woah

Petty showing the competitiveness needed for a full forward

Bowey BOG

Max saved us at the end there

Viney played to the standard needed.

Young guys played their part and show that they are the future and the present. Get the ball into their hands and we’ll be fine

Pressure, pressure, pressure

T-Mac and Disco did a great job.

If you told me that we'd kick over 100 with no Fritsch and JVR I would have told you to run around Fed Square naked for a few hours.

At last we got to see our boys play our way. Contested, effort, team work, transition and brilliant defence (for the most part).

Bowey, Kozzie, Viney and TMac - wow.

Gawn's last quarter.

Langford's game.

And the backline when Turner went down - well done.

Best of all was our effort and intensity around the ball.

If we win the next 2 against Tigs and Eagles we will beat the Hawks they are our biatches.

Both teams had players out.

I don't care BA we won.

Very even effort don’t think there was many passengers today, first time this year we have been able to lock the ball inside of 50 for periods of time

The change in our gameplay was stark in the last, much less playing on. Last qtrs def still a worry

But gees I’m proud of the boys, played their hearts out

They have both been lead weights all season and Fritz forb18 months. Both [censored] at Casey says it all.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
