IN :JEFFO, FULLO, BROWNO, SESTO, LAURO

OUT : VAN ROOYENO, SPARGO, HENDO, SHARPO, MELKO

LUCKY TO HOLD PLACE VINEYO

Assumes Mayo and Kozzo are fit!

Won't happen though coz the luuuurve childs will play coz incredibly confident coach is backing F Troop to turn it around!

Also wonโ€™t happen as it will give us less chance to get within 60 points

ย

I'd just like to see JEffo and AJ up there again, JVR and Jeffo to purely play forward roles AJ second ruck which is what we got him for. No one can argue that we looked better with that setup in the first game, whether it was coincidence or not.

Not sure about Spargo or Hendo at this point, would love to see McVee in and Kolt but not sure they're ready straight away.

Keep Milkshake he's great, mature, good kick inside 50 which we so desperately need.

Please don't bring in Howes he's still not ready, bring in Jed Adams I'd be interested to see him if we need him.

I'm hoping Laurie can actually play well, but he doesn't really do much at AFL level, imagine if we brought him in for Viney and he just dominated wouldn't that be something!

Seriously we all know so much more than the coaches if they just jumped on here and took our advice we'd start winning.

Itโ€™s really a matter of representing the best 2 out of 3 primary colours. Always has been.

Yellow, pffft, please.

If there was a Primary colour ladder we'd absolutely smash it.

Select a young team and just tell them to go for it. Scrap whatever ridiculous game plan weโ€™re attempting to play and tell them to apply pressure and tackle hard.

The Disco omission was stupid by Goodwin and co. All it did was rob us of a much needed goal kicking option. I also love his celebrations after each goal as he tries to pump up his teammates who are devoid of any inspiration or excitement at the moment. He seems like a bit of a character in amongst a bunch of unhappy players on the field at the moment.

The forward line needs an overhaul and iโ€™d be looking at bringing in Turner, Jefferson OR Fullarton. Iโ€™d also keep JVR as heโ€™ll have more talls in the forward line to support him.

Wonโ€™t happen due to prior selection habits and delusions shown by Goody and MFC โ€ฆ but Iโ€™d go with some radical changes. ie. Any change is radical !!

Outs. Spargo. Henderson. JVR. Melksham.

Ins. Fullarton. Turner. Sestan. Kynan Brown.

Sestan to debut why not? Let the youngster show us something โ€ฆ or we can delist him at year end ! At least give him a go

Adams as an emergency in case May fails last minute fitness test

(Presume McVee and Throlstrup return via Casey)

Salem May Tmcd

Riv Petty Bowey

Windsor Viney Langdon

Chandler Turner Trac

Sharp Fullarton Fritsch

Gawn Langford Oliver

Int. Sestan Sparrow Lindsay Sharp

Sub. K.Brown

Emerg. Johnson Adams Verrall

Agree with all that except Sesto for Melk

Sesto's been training / playing as a small medium intercept link up defender (similar to Salo a little?) and played similar role at Casey so far as you would no doubt know SN

Melk never hits top form early either via Casey or seniors. He at least gave us something for a quarter and a bit last week. I'd keep the faith here in the medium term but also be prepared to pull the trigger if he doesn't come good soon.

Having said that, Sesto has also played plenty of time as a HF at Casey so your argument could also hold. But do we consider replacing Hendo with Sesto instead of Melk?

Brown dog for Spargo is the obvious in in terms of recent form at Casey. He's quicker by foot and capable of getting to / impacting more contests / linking up more (but won't happen)

Fullo for JVR (won't happen either)

Turner should not have been dropped last week. I'd have him in ahead of Hendo at this point and go taller plus he is probably our best contested mark outside of Maxy. He can play link / intercept up the line and / or behind the ball and reads the ball nicely. Great hands in the air which we don't have alot of beside Max & T-Mac at times (also won't happen!)

ย

I'm going to presume May is out.

I think we've got to play Petty on Treacy and Adams on Amiss, we may even need to play Turner back.

Forward, JVR needs help and currently that's Jefferson, Fullarton or AJ. I'd go with 2 of them to help JVR, I don't actually care which 2 as long as they bring effort and intensity at the ball and the ball carrier.

McVee and Tholstrup have to come in as they are better than the alternatives.

OUT: May, Henderson, Sharp, Viney, Sparrow

IN: Turner, AJ, Jefferson, McVee, Tholstrup

Clearly there's not a chance we will make this many changes so I'd suggest Viney and Sparrow stay in and Tholstrup and Jefferson/AJ stay out. Personally I'd play Tholstrup ahead of both Viney and Sparrow atm.

This game could get very ugly. if we play like we did against the Bombers it'll be 80 points plus and the pressure on the club and Goodwin will grow.

If by a miracle we win I'll party like it's 1987, in all honesty I can't see us getting within 10 goals but I'll be heading in with a glimmer of hope attached.

Have we stopped training? Going by the only thing on the socials Remy Jones and Teddy Melksham might be getting a gig.

This has been one if the most noticeable aspects - where are all the leads from our forwards, medium and talls?

It was particularly evident in the bombers game given they went small with selection.

Leaving aside the inanity of that decision, why weren't the smalls and mediums going crazy making lead after lead?

It did my head in watching us constantly kicking long to mediums and smalls, in most cases out numbered ones at that - surely that wasn't the plan?

And jvr seems to have stopped making any leads altogether. Just wants to wrestle.

It begs the question what came first....the 'bang it to the hot spot because there is no leading' or 'no one is leading so bang it in to the hot spot'.

A few suggestions that Fritta should be dropped this week.

Given he wasn't dropped after hitting rock bottom in round 3, and actually playing better footy the last 2 weeks including a sizzling goal from the 50 arc, I'd have his omission chances at approximately 0% this week.

A small sample size for comparison purposes for sure but Player Rating / Stats back that up. Coming off a very poor base but a big up tick. Hopefully he's turned the corner and on the up...

Which highlights one of the problems of not dropping players when they should be dropped.

Agree, although not necessarily in relation to Fritsch. Spargoโ€™s the one who comes to mind for me.

I thought it was a good move selecting him because we need his kickong skills (though it made little sense to make him a sub).

But agree, he's not been great.

Goody flagged changes - I'll be fascinated if he follows through and who he brings in (surely Brown comes in given his terrific pressure at Casey)

This seems two weeks too late and not at all the right call, but letโ€™s wait for the team sheet.
