All for the tag but to give them the plus one then not have a plan going forward knowing they had a plus one by having decoy runners or blocks, an overload on a side of the ground to create space to lead into or a short option at the 40 metre mark ie the player originally on Holmes. It’s unforgivable. You don’t get points for winning the inside 50 count on a weekly basis.

Don’t get me started on allowing an illegal amount of uncontested possession. Unforgivable. Go man on or a split zone or something. At the game last night it looked like Geelong were more committed to covering ground, spreading and providing options than us. As usual our midfield / forward connection was a hot mess. I don't want to think it but if Roo stays on this trajectory he's well on the way to being Weid 2.0

As my first night game down there it was a nice experience (outside the result). It's a nice stadium close to the centre of town and the natives were friendly. Nice weather. Had Hobart vibes. I somehow managed to buy our GA tickets for the wrong end of the ground but worked out that you can walk all the way around the Moorabool Street side to the other end. Their bahn mi rolls are rubbish though.

One negative which can actually turn into a positive is Fritta and Kozzie kicking 0.6 between them. Kick 4.2 instead of 0.6 and we’re losing by 17 points in a highly respectable loss. And let’s face it some of those misses both boys eat for breakfast normally.

Both players average just under 3 scoring shots a game in their career , which was pretty much bang on last night. If next week both players are having 3 scoring shots each, I’d venture a guess we’d be getting at least a 3 goals 3 behind outcome between the both of them.

What about the sitters the Cats missed? Kick those and we lose by 60. We were embarrassed, the Cats had a world record number of marks when everyone knows keeping the ball off them virtually guarantees you a win. That’s on the coach, plain and simple.

Apart from not being able to:

Stick tackles, create space, defend fast transition, hold possession for more than 3 in a chain, take intercept marks, kick goals, hit up teammates, get a break from umps, get effective clearances we are doing pretty well.

Still think I’ll get $10 on Dees and Blues to make finals if I can figure out how to do it - doesn’t seem to be a popular bet.

They have always played that game style Roost it, chipping around in the backline waiting for a loose man but we used to be able to score on turn over so it didn’t matter that they always had a stack of uncontested possessions and marks. What I don’t understand is why can’t we revert to a more close checking game plan when required to close them down allowing opponents to have 17 uncontested marks is ludicrous.😁👍

It's almost like we have a bunch of players who aren't playing well and a bunch of players who may not be quite up to it.

Omg I had the exact same experience - uncanny. Minus the rolls. I had a hot dog. It was identical to the G: barely resembling food.

G-Town is great, love the town and the people. Lived there for 5 years (some time ago). I could see Kardinia Park from my balcony when i lived there (Newtown represent 😁). I used to watch the Cats there occasionally when I didn't drive up the freeway to Princes Park, 3054. Never really developed an affection for the Cats (unlike the Dees) but have no hatred of them and respect what they have done over the last few decades. Sheets me how successful they have become and how much of a rabble my once proud mob have become in that time but its mostly self inflicted so can't complain too much 😁

Yeah, I imagine it would be a great little place for a young family. The waterfront area looked great in the sunshine yesterday. I feel the same about the cats. I like the novelty aspect of them being the only team based in a country town (well, maybe the Adelaide sides too) but think they have a cråp song and colours.

Fair point. But Geelong were still more accurate than us.
