Tbf, this is only their second match of the year after playing in round 1 and then the bye.

They look seriously good in the contest and on the spread and would be expected to get a lot better as the season goes on.

Absolutely. Their spread today is asking us look pedestrian.

This has 10 goal thumping all over it

But they love each other

Sack Goodwin tomorrow.

Dropped marks, miskicks, handballs that fail to travel a metre, constant turnovers, etc. etc. nothing to do with Goodwin.

Quick question..

Which department has been the worst today,?

Forward

Midfield

Or

Backline?

Trick question...... they're all on the nose.

forwards, our goals have been kicked by the sub and a backman

Lindsay, if anything probably a PCL unfortunately

Thanks very much. Bloody shame for the young kid. Been doing well.

Heartbreaking for him.

Time to call the season off.

Never seen them so disinterested under goodwin.

Think he's lost them.

How long do we have to keep watching this garbage.
Till the club has withered and died a slow death.
Sack Goodwin tomorrow.

We need to make a statement and stand for something.

Must admit I try to avoid the AFL official media just as much as I try and avoid the Gameday thread. But any danger someone from the AFL could drop by training one day and take a snap of the vice-captain and add it to the file?

Thanks Mr C. Snake . At least Milkshake has still got it.

And I called for Bowser to moved fwd two weeks ago. He is fast, fleet of foot, has great hand to eye coordination and in the limited opportunities had good goal awareness. Given Kozzie s suspension and Nibbler leaving, Chins apparent cameo for the year, he could be handy.

Edited by leave it to deever

Everything to do with the coach, good coaches do not tolerate continued mistakes.

Except for the fact that he is the one in charge of the list and all that..

I don’t know what to make of this team. They look like they just aren’t invested in the game plan (whatever that may be), they don’t appear to be working for each other (very little talking or awareness of what team mates are doing) and they just appear to lack energy. Honestly, I feel like I’m watching a Neeld era match… it’s so [censored] awful!!

Fritsch can’t buy a goal, Rivers is having possibly the worst game I’ve seen him play, Viney appears to be disposing of the ball to players that we can’t see, Salem doesn’t appear to want to lay a tackle, Oliver still having the occasional expensive brain fart etc etc. And on top of all of that we lose Lindsay, one of our most productive players in the first two rounds, early in the game.

I am liking Johnson’s attitude if not his skill set, and I’ve liked Sharp’s run. Back to the game now…

Reminds me of when players used to walk away ignoring the Neil Balme qtr time huddles.

FFS need to make a statement and drop Oliver. He has been a liability.

Just back from my boy's basketball final, they lost by a point and he is in tears

I'll just pop on the footy now, hopefully will cheer us up

Well actually he isn't.

List manager and recruitment are in charge of that. Sure Goodwin has input but he won't make the calls.

Any chance of just one fast play?

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
